In summary

Dinosaur Trail Golf & Country Club is celebrated for its unique layout, blending a traditional front nine with a challenging and scenic back nine set against the dramatic backdrop of the Badlands. The course is well-maintained, offering stunning views and a memorable golfing experience, particularly on the back nine with its rugged terrain and hoodoos. While the staff is generally praised for their friendliness, some visitors have noted issues with clubhouse management and additional charges for golf cart seats.

We travel to play this course once a year. August 2025, the course was spectacular. The bight green grass from all the rain we've had, against the browns of the Badlands. We did question if the course was under new management because the clubhouse didn't seem to be as well run as in past years. The back nine is very tough. As a not so great golfer I only play a few holes on the back nine but love to sit and enjoy the scenery while my husband finishes the course.

What a unique and fun course! The front 9 is a very typical looking course but then you get to the back 9 and it looks like a whole different place! The back was hard but fun, even with a lot of lost balls we still a good time playing on such a unique terrain.

If you golf and are taking the family to drumheller for a vacation. This is one worth sneaking out of the hotel early for! The front nine was very nice, lush and massive trees near a river. Looks easy but anything on the edge you get the big tree limbs goal keeping. The back nine is just incredible. I played once as a junior but my memory did not do it justice. Lots of placement shots but if you get it in the area it's fair. They landing zones collect your balls and you absolutely can not beat the views. Don't pass on this track. And if you dont have time for 18 play the back. Clubhouse and ca…

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Badlands! I visited the Dinosaur-themed golf course in Drumheller last summer, and it was absolutely stunning. The scenery was breathtaking—surrounded by the unique rock formations of the Badlands, it felt like golfing on another planet. The course was well-maintained, fun, and perfect for all ages. The dinosaur sculptures added a playful and nostalgic touch, making it a great spot for families and casual golfers alike. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience was both relaxing and memorable. If you're visiting Drumheller, this place is a…

I enjoy this course . Classic country club style on the front nine . Keep it out of the tree line and you'll be fine . Greens are in good shape but a bit slower than some courses . The back nine is very scenic but tight . ball placement is key , I used my driver once . It would be better if you got used to the course . I would golf here anytime I'm close to drumheller.

The front nine is a more traditional, relaxing course, while the back nine presents a challenging, dramatic layout carved into rugged terrain with steep cliffs and narrow fairways. Though challenging for beginners, it’s a must-visit for those seeking a truly distinctive golf adventure.

Golf was fun. Front 9 is like a normal course. Fair amount of water and trees all things considered. Back 9 is like a different world. No trees (not even for shade - oh my god was it hot!!!). Much more challenging if your ball doesn’t stay straight. Also a lot of hidden landings. Tough course for a first timer! But worthy to play if you’re a relatively decent golfer. I wouldn’t wanna play it more than once every few years though. Kitchen was fine. Proshop was fine. Carts were good enough. They’re down 1 star for not having a beverage cart and no other real option. Can’t bring outside drinks b…

Beautiful views on the back 9 of this course. It's incredibly tough if you're not an accurate golfer. Make sure to bring at least 20-30 balls. It's a great experience to try out but I couldn't be a regular at this course. I drove 3 hrs and played 2 rounds. The staff was great. They have 2 menus. One Asian and one regular Canadian. The course is in good condition. They put money into keeping it beautiful

What an experience! The front 9 - sorry but not anything new or exciting. The back 9 was like we were on another planet! It was so fun and different from anything we ever experienced. Throw away your scorecard and enjoy!

Was in Calgary and told this golf course and local dinosaur museum were worth the visit. I'm glad I made the 1.5+ hour drive because both were a pleasant surprise kind of in the middle of nowhere. But speaking of the course is exactly like others have mentioned. The front nine is very peaceful and not too challenging..... But once you start driving up to #10 you can tell things are about to change. Let's just say I was 1 over on the front and lost no balls...... however I lost 5 balls on the back and was 10 over. I'm still happy with my score but the back nine offers a lot of blind shots. Defi…

Great course conditions, and offers a typical links front nine and a unique back nine in the hoodoos. Each hole and fairway has beautiful views of the landscape and the greens are very readable. They have a driving range and practice green too. This is a must play course in Alberta!
