In summary

Don Valley Golf Course is highly regarded for its beautiful, scenic layout nestled in a forested valley, offering a challenging and well-maintained course that feels removed from the city despite its central location. Golfers appreciate the course's accessibility and the variety of elevations and water hazards that provide an engaging experience for players of all skill levels. However, some visitors mention the slow pace of play and limited clubhouse facilities as areas for improvement.

Don Valley Golf Course- A Masterclass in Perspective Did we card a competitive score? Absolutely not. Did we win? Undeniably yes. Don Valley delivered everything you want from a perfect Sunday round: bluebird skies, lush ravine fairways, hotdogs at the halfway mark, and the quiet dignity of pretending your 9 on hole 8 (Par 5, 525 yards- respect) was "just one bad bounce." The course itself is gorgeous, tree-lined, rolling, genuinely scenic in a way that makes errant shots feel almost intentional, like you wanted to explore the forest. We did explore the forest. Extensively. We also generous…

I enjoy playing here. Lots of elevation changes. Quite scenic for a city course. I found some hole layouts to be interesting and fun to play. But, some could be designed a bit better (#1, #14, #15)

Amazing! Pretty much lived my entire life in Toronto and have driven over this valley golf course countless times on the 401, while glancing at the trees on north and south sides. Never played it until 2024 because it seemed pricey. Don't miss out like me, play this course now if you haven't yet! Easy access by TTC with a short walk from York Mills subway station. Right off the 401 with free parking if you drive. A genuinely beautiful forested valley setting. Other than occasional views of tall condos and always the mighty (busy, haha) 401 overhead, you can easily forget you're in the city.…

Hard to not give 5 stars to such a visually stunning and challenging course. Every hole carved out into the Don Valley makes you forget you’re in a big city as they incorporate the surrounding nature, manicured into some of the tougher holes you’ll find on a muni. My only gripe is that it’s incredibly difficult to play a 4 hour round at the Don. We played an earlier round (maybe 10th tee off of the day) and we already started 15 minutes past our tee time. The lack of on-course pace-keeping and marshaling only compounds this issue. But honestly, don’t plan to have a quick round there, but make…

Don Valley Golf Course Review Wow, Don Valley Golf Course is a real treat right in the middle of Toronto! 🏙️⛳ For a city-run course, it’s super impressive great layout with tricky hills and water hazards that keep you on your toes. The staff are friendly, The course upkeep is decent, not perfect, but totally fine for the price. Loved the vibe along the Don River, feels like you’re miles from the city. Grab an early tee time to beat the crowds. Highly recommend this fun spot for a round! Rating: 4/5 stars

Today was one of those perfect days to sit on a patio, savoring a golden beer that gleamed in the sunlight. It was also, apparently, a great day to meet a fox. On the final par 4 hole at Don Valley Club, I’d stuck the ball a solid meter from the hole. In my mind, I boldly declared, 'Birdie or death!' Yet somehow, I finished with a par—classic. Just as I was about to leave the green, I spotted a fox loitering nearby. Later, photos revealed it was actually a coyote, but in that moment, I was convinced it was a fox. It sauntered across the green, giving me a casual glance, like we were old pals.…

Closest 18 hole par 72 public course from downtown and accessible via subway (York Mills). Average condition with medium to slow greens. Hilly with lots of woods and shrubs, ~6200y from the blue tees. Book online from their website. 9 hole tee times only available 2.5hrs after sunrise and 2.5hrs before sunset, twilight rates start ~4.5hrs before sunset. Usually very busy. There is a walk-on waitlist as well.

Beautiful public golf course. I'm not a golfer so cannot vouch for the facilities but it was a great place to walk during COVID-19. Unfortunately it's now closed to non-golfers. Highly recommended if you're still around for the next pandemic.

First time here, which is weird given that I used to live about five minutes away. In any event, easily the best city course in the city. Challenging and long, about $100 with a cart on weekends which is well worth it. Had a great time.

This golf course is in impeccable condition for a City run course. It is challenging and fair. I am just amazed by how well it is maintained. I did not know there was a nature reserve under the 401. If you walk this course, you will also endure a healthy hike with tons of undulations.

The course is a jewel in the heart of Toronto. The course is well maintained and has new updates. Trees have been trimmed in many areas. Looks amazing.

Located conveniently at Hwy 401 & Yonge Street the Don Valley Golf Course is a beautiful City owned Golf Course that will not disappoint. Well kept grounds, challenging holes and multiple elevations will challenge every golfer regardless of skill level. Playing either 9 or 18 holes are options. Easily accessible in the heart of North York and 2 minutes from Hwy 401 this course is one of them hidden gems that you would know was there if passing by on Yonge or when travelling on Hwy 401.
