In summary

Elkhorn Valley Golf Course is praised for its beautiful setting and peaceful environment, with some visitors appreciating the challenging layout and friendly staff. However, many reviews highlight significant maintenance issues, including poorly kept greens, tee boxes, and sand traps, as well as concerns about the course's overall condition and management. While some find the course enjoyable, others express disappointment over its decline from previous standards.

I had the distinct pleasure of being Tony's 1st ever camper! Because of this the red carpet was rolled out for me (as much as there could possibly be out here in the sticks) starting with an escourted drive to what Tony thought was his prime site (agreed - but I think any site here would be prime!), followed by a pile of seasoned firewood brought to my site AND the fire started for me. Hung for the night tied to 2 towering pine trees. This was 2 years ago during a cross-country trek and I hope to come back one day soon to see if there's been any progress on the campground, and re-introduce mys…

I visited Elkhorn Valley Golf Course in late September for a late morning tee time and my group and I were the only ones on the course. The rates were fair compared to other courses in the area. It had been raining so the course was a little soggy in areas which was to be expected, but the greens were very poorly maintained. Many had standing water on them, and about half were torn up by gopher holes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but it seems as though the course has seen better days and hopefully is on the up and up. The surrounding area is beautiful and makes a great settin…

Such a beautiful course! The staff have been working really hard and it shows. The greens look really good as well. It is still a little wet due to the recent snowfall but the course played extremely well for this time of year. I would say even better than some local city courses. The weather was sunny and being out in the woods is so relaxing. I will definitely be back!

First time playing Elkhorn in a few years, couldn't have been more disappointed. Myself and 2 others that I met at the course were the only ones on the course for most of the morning. After playing it was very easy to understand why, the course is virtually unplayable. Tee boxes and greens hadn't been mowed in I dont know how long, mushrooms growing a couple greens, and it was a holiday weekend. I am lucky enough to have played elkhorn when it was rated as one of the top 9 hole courses in the country by golf digest. My suggestion is they get back to that focus because obviously 18 holes is too…

I really wanted to like this course, especially after seeing a beautiful video of the course's layout and how challenging it seemed, but that definitely was not the case after playing there this Saturday. First off the staff was incredibly rude and gave us the look like we had no business being there. They claimed that we lost the course $800 for reasons we can't even think of. They didn't want to give us two golf carts at first even though rules for covid should be implemented, and the price was definitely way too high for such a poorly kept course. Like I mentioned the course was in really b…

Unless you’re an experienced golfer who hits your shots consistent and you score under par every course you play, don’t play here.. you’re throwing away 40 bucks (walking) and a ton of golf balls if you do. Oh and if you play early enough, they will make the course super wet so any consistency you have, goes out the window. On the bright side, at least it’s a great looking view.

Such a fun (although difficult) golf course! They have such a beautiful location that's off the beaten path and it's just very peaceful. The electric cart was well worth the $10 if you're planning on doing a full 18 hole game. Only thing that would improve it would be better greens. They seemed to be a little patchy. I would still totally recommend a visit.

Played this morning and this was the worst course I have played, the staff was nice, there was trash and a grave yard of carts within eye shot of the club house, the tee boxes were patchy at best and some of the greens had large patches of sand, the sand traps were solid and have not been raked in quite some time. You can see that this was a very nice course at one time, but it's not held to that standard anymore unfortunately.

It is a real shame that I have to give this once great course this low of a score, but it is necessary. Since the course was taken over by a new management firm from out of state, nothing has been the same. The sand traps are never raked and they have weeds growing in them, you can often spot carts abandoned out on the paths because they froze up. My last visit was even worse, the tee boxes were in horrid shape, like they hadn't been seeded or moved in months. I put up with a lot because the course is in such a beautiful environment with a great layout, but that was probably the last time I wi…

Very disappointed! I had been bragging to my friends how beautiful the course is but I hadn't been in several years. The fairways have been mowed but they are dead and full of dandelions and the greens had large dead and dirt patches on them and my front yard is in better shape than the tee boxes! I will not be returning. Definatly not worth the drive or the $55.00 greens fees!

We had a fantastic day golfing at Elkhorn Valley Golf Course yesterday! Great pricing, great experience, awesome management! Hands down my new favorite course. The manager even took some time out of his busy day to give us some pointers early on. We all highly recommend this course to everyone looking to have a peaceful, yet, challenging round of golf. Thanks!

Worse taken care of golf course I have ever played. What a shame as it appeared to have been a pretty decent lay out back in the day. There was literally no grass on the tee boxes and fairways due to irrigation issues, and the greens were hurting pretty bad by being kept alive with hand watering.
