In summary

Elkwater Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful setting in the Cypress Hills, offering a well-maintained course with unique metal animal sculptures and a relaxed atmosphere. Many visitors commend the friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and quality dining options at the clubhouse. However, some guests have experienced issues with staff professionalism and course management, particularly concerning tee time logistics and interactions with newcomers to the sport.

Beautiful course with meadows and trees. Par 5s,4s,3s intermediate difficulty. Excellent greens are much better quality than what you’d find at like a fancy but busy golf course. Fun full size metal animal shapes on course that are add it’s own uniqueness. We play with our kids. Grass tees driving range and restaurant. Nice little drive from the campgrounds and there’s a viewpoint and museum on the way.

It's located at the top of Elkwater heights. 45 minutes drive from Medicine Hat city drive 9 holes good course, staff are great, service is good, and prices are better than the city. It has a nice restaurant at the side with good staff and a very reasonable price. Great for the days you want to be out of the city at the top of Cypress Hills to eat, drink and play 9 holes golf.

The course isn't always the greenest but it is beautiful. We went at the beginning of October. $20 for a round (honour system). We were one of a few people on the course. Relaxed atmosphere.

I play this course once a year when we camp in elkwater. This year was the best shape I have seen the course in and was pleasantly surprised! We always come back. Only took one picture of thte wife teeing up but the tee boxes we in great shape as you can see and the greens were as well!

The review is for the club house only. We enjoyed a scenic drive out to have lunch for my friends birthday. The food was outstanding and responsibly priced. The service was impeccable and the establishment was very clean. We had a wonderful afternoon and we will definitely be back.

The food was great! We heard terrible things about the restaurants in Elkwater townsite and we were directed here by a local. We came back twice. Once for lunch and once for taco in a bag! The burger for lunch was way better than the food we ate in Medicine Hat! And the taco in a bag was awesome. Highly recommended! Thank you!

A group of 5 of us found this hidden-away gem off the beaten path. We had a wonderful lunch served by friendly staff at a reasonable price.

The course was beautiful and well maintained. It was my 1st time there and I found very poor signage on how to get out there from Elkwater. When we finished our round the clubhouse was locked up and we weren't given instructions on what to do with the cart keyes. Despite this we really enjoyed ourselves and would go again.

Old school place. Reservations by phone only, handwritten down. It was early in the season but the greens were very rough, fairways even rougher. Absolutely beautiful location with friendly staff. I assume the conditions will improve with time.

Despite it being a nice course out in Cypress Hills, our group did not have a good experience. When we arrived for our booked tee time there were no carts available as they had given them all to a large group with a tee time after us. This ended in us having to wait 45 minutes for more carts to come in. Then while out on the course we had encounters with two “directors” of the course who were very rude and unprofessional. As it was our first time golfing we were unaware of some of the rules, and instead of kindly explaining them, they proceeded to yell and blame us for things outside of our co…
