In summary

Falls Road Golf Course is often praised for its well-maintained greens, scenic layout, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice among public courses in the area. The course offers a variety of amenities, including a driving range and a grill. However, some visitors express frustration with the staff's strict enforcement of pace of play, which has led to experiences of being rushed or asked to skip holes.

For a municipal course, the conditions were great - especially the greens. Good price in line with other public courses in the area. Very walkable course with the tips being less than 6,200 yards and all the tee boxes being right by the previous greens. The pace of play was lightning fast for a public course. The marshall, while friendly, was being a bit irritating about our pace. We finished the front 9 in 1 hour and 40 minutes, and he told us that we needed to pick up the pace of play and keep pace with the group in front of us. They had 2 people, we had 4. The people behind us had 3 guys an…

Course conditions are usually good, but there's nicer moco courses with way better course design. The staff is also weirdly on edge every time I'm here. Feels like starter is always lecturing each group and then you're a few minutes late to your tee time; and I'm all for pace of play, but it's weirdly militant here in a way it isn't at other moco courses. You can play the front 9 in 90m-ish and you'll still be asked to skip a hole to break some ridiculous time constraint they set for the full 18. (I've **never** been asked to skip hole(s) anywhere else in my life except for this course) If y…

Played here Sunday 6 July 2025 and was super pleased for our first time here. Staff was very receptive and friendly from beginning to end. Cost was about right for the only public course in a mostly private course area, with the location and a weekend round. Pace of play was excellent, in fact, we were the pace group for 18 holes in 4 hours and yes, we were spot on at a 4-hour game - wow, very impressive. The Marshall was checking on us consistently to insure pace of play ahead of us was stacking up to what they desired, so that was quite pleasant to experience - Thank you. The course was in…

Solid public course located in Potomac, MD. Good variety in terms of slope, direction, and distance. 20+ range bays and a practice green. A grill with several dining and drinking options.

Overall not a very good experience. The fairways and greens were in spotty and poor condition. We had a 7:42 tee time and arrived well in advance of scheduled tee time. Starter told us that we needed to keep up our pace of play as there was a ladies group after us who would not hesitate to complain if we held them up. Made the mistake of engaging the starter in conversation and he continued to talk with us so by the time we reached the first tee box we were already 7 minutes late for our tee off time. Everything was fine until the starter showed up on the 12th hole and told us we were a hole b…

Starter and marshal are absolutely delusional - held us up from our tee time barking about importance of pace of play and then made us skip the 4th hole when we played the first 3 holes in 32min and the group behind wasn’t even on the 3rd tee. We were hardly slow. Made the turn in under 90 min and finished in less than 3h20min. Won’t play there again.

Nice, clean and well air conditioned clubhouse, staffed by friendly helpful folks. Driving range was great fun. Quite busy, even on warm and humid Saturday July morning in a heat wave. Nevertheless, early birds will have no problem finding an open bay.

I’ve played this course several times, and it’s generally well-maintained with good greens and fairways. The fairways and rough are consistently in decent shape, though the greens can occasionally suffer due to players not repairing divots. It’s a popular course, likely due to its location, so it often gets very crowded. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was ruined by poor staff communication and management. We had a 6:30 AM tee time and were playing at the expected 2hr/9 holes pace posted on the scorecard, with two players in our group shooting personal bests (+2 and +4 through 9 hole…

I am from Europe and had the pleasure to visit this amazing public Golf course in August 2025. The experience was outstanding, the staff was the most friendly we have seen. If you go there, take the time and visit the club house. There you will meet Felix, one of the nicest guys we have ever met, and on top, YOU HAVE TO TRY HIS BURGER & FRIES…..AMAZING. As Austrians say, „I‘ll be back“ 😊 Thank you all, thank you Felix for the experience. Andreas

Its always fun to come to this golf course and play 18 holes, but this time around I took in my 8yr young son with me for the 1st time. He was excited to try out his new clubs and join the golfers "club" 😁 The golf course is very well taken care of and the employees are very helpful and professional. No complaints!

Well maintained, fair and challenging. Quick greens and manicured fairways - - Falls Road is another great Montgomery County Course, fun to play and easy on the eyes.

Pleasant enough. Nice staff. Range often crowded. Yardage markers are upgraded on the range for 2022. Often booked for walk ups, so reservations are a must. Good course for all levels of play. Well maintained course.
