In summary

Flint River Municipal Golf Course is frequently praised for its affordability, challenging layout, and well-maintained greens, with many visitors appreciating the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, particularly manager Roy Snead. However, some golfers have noted areas in need of improvement, such as inconsistent course conditions, particularly on the greens and fairways, and occasional issues with customer service and course management. Despite these concerns, the course remains a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking a budget-friendly golfing experience.

Played this golf course a few times, specifically on August 21, 2023. I have seen the course in better shape than what it currently is in. For the price it is not bad and definitely manageable. To get into the details, the greens need some work in regards to a few dead spots as you can see in the pictures. The fairways also have some dry and hard spots which make it difficult to play accurately. Some tee boxes are just sand and barley have any grass on them. If this course had better care it would be outstanding. It is challenging and makes you think, especially with the elevation challenges t…

Great course with awesome staff!! It's well maintained, good greens, affordable, with holes ranging from moderate to difficult. Overall, we travel from Columbus weekly and always experience a great round of golf.

I hated this course, The Lady at the front was very rude they have Bad customer service And the lady at the front automatically assumed me and my Cousin‘s age And said that we weren’t allowed to drive the golf carts because we were “under age”. We didn’t get to finish all of the holes because the golf carts had to be back 5:30 on the dot. Me and my family will never be coming back again. I expected better as my first time doing golf

Beautiful course , it’s really the best deal in Albany by far. Their greens put stone bridge and river point to shame. Their manager Roy is a credit to the community. You won’t find a more welcoming environment anywhere.

For a municipal golf course, this is an unexpected pleasure. A few little rough spots, but for the price it can't be beat. The shop was clean and well kept. Cart included in price. Right around $40 with vet discount, not sure as I made other purchases.

Most bang for your golf buck you can get. I used to play this course every time my work travels from West Virginia took me to Albany, GA. The manager, Roy Snead, treated me like I was his own family member and I'll never forget him and his kindness towards me every time I played there. I miss the course and Roy greatly as I no longer travel for work. God bless him and this muni!

Early Feb. my golfing buddy and I happened on this gem. What a wonderful course. Water on almost every hole .. every green elevated and saddled bagged by monstrous bunkers. While the fairways are dormant the tees and green were fine. What was amazing was that Mr. Roy , the manager offered us a cart just to tour the course the day before we were to play. His hospitality was unlimited and the local players so friendly. Obviously we booked another round. You can't beat the cost either. There are areas where lack of Municpal expenditures and time have taken their toll. Visit the club house and…

Excellent Staff. Roy Snead has made this an enjoyable experience for me and my family for many years. The upkeep and courtesy it to be commended. My brother even mentioned Roy and his staff in his funeral service. Will keep coming back. We feel at home here. Thanks.

It's really well kept, and definitely the most challenging course in Albany for the pin placements and deceptive green speeds. The elevated greens will make you rethink your approach shots if you know your lobs. Plenty of wildlife especially on the back 9. All said, it's a great experience that won't break the bank and might tell on you if you've never teed off there before.
