In summary

Franconia Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, reasonable green fees, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice in Western Massachusetts. The course layout is appreciated, though some find it slightly gimmicky. However, there are recurring concerns about slow pace of play, the condition of bunkers, and occasional issues with customer service.

The course is in great shape and it's my favorite course in Western Mass. No, it isn't anything special, just reasonable golf and reasonable hole distances for a weekend or in this case, weekday hacker. The people are nice and it's generally busy, so you have to be patient because sometimes the holes back up or play into each other since it's a tight space. Go enjoy yourself and friends and hopefully you'll find some birdies.

Great Public Course for the price. Pretty good condition and pace of play was surprisingly good on the late Sunday I played considering it was a nice day out. Greens were slower than expected. Overall, a bargin for the price!

Go at the end of the night usually can get in 9 holes, return the cart, then play a few more until dark. Entire course is in fantastic shape. Greens are 10/10 ATM.

I’ve played this 3-4 times this year. Every time I play the same chubby kid is working in the Resturant. It’s a Saturday I get you’re busy but there’s no need for his attitude and terrible food he makes. Guess it’s time to finally cross this place off the list.

Played in a tournament today. Greens are good. However, some tee boxes were in rough condition. Some fairways had brown spots which I'm sure is due to the lack of rain. The course is very playable though. Carts are clean and well maintained. Overall great golf outing.

Took 3+ hours to finish a round of 9 with a cart. No ranger going out there to check pace of play. Waited on every shot for a while. Greens were a bit on the slower side as well. Willing to come back for a future visit in hopes the next time goes better. The starter and pro shop attendant were very nice overall and remained professional.

Really nice condition course, a little gimmicky for a 6k yard course, and also almost always a slow round just due to volume on the course. Good staff and conditions make it a must play in the area.

The layout is great and the course is always in excellent condition They obviously make the effort to keep the course in great shape. My only knock is the concrete bunkers. Either add more sand or till them up in the off season. You should play this course a few times a year if you live in the area.

For a public golf course it is great condition. Bunkers however are awful. Greens were plugged a while ago but have grown and putting is acceptable. Fairways are in great shape and rough is rough but manageable. It was an enjoyable day with good conditions. 4 stars only because of bunkers.

The last time I played this course over 20 years ago, it was a great layout, but beat-up and worn-out. However, after today's round with my two great friends, this course has transformed in a muny-gem! The tee-boxes and fairways are lush and tightly mowed, rough is fair and the greens are just pristine! Don't miss-out on this "diamond-in-the- rough!!!"

Ordered drinks from cart girl with credit card. She didn’t have card reader so she said pickup at clubhouse after the round. Went by after the round and they said the guy that has my card left for the day but can be back in 20 mins or you can get tomorrow. Call back next day to make sure they have it before going to pickup and guy gives me attitude and says we don’t have any credit cards here….had to cancel card and get a new one….
