In summary

Veterans Memorial Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors. The course offers excellent value for money, with affordable rates and commendable amenities, including a revamped clubhouse and good dining options. However, some players have noted issues with slow pace of play, particularly due to the absence of tee times in the afternoon, which can lead to congestion on the course.

Instant love affair. I traveled 111 minutes for a round of golf to "help" The Baystate Golfer check off course #149 on his quest to play all of MA's 300+ golf courses. You could say I'm an aficionado of New England golf courses & the architects who have their fingerprints all over these local landscapes: by the 3rd or 4th green it became evident that these greens complexes are the devlish work of Geoffrey Cornish. Look for his greens to show elements that are both extreme & subtle; imagine playing snappy breaks for 4 holes in a row only to be then met with flat that look impossibly straight.…

I’ve played this course twice now and I have to say, for $46 with a cart for 18 and how well kept this course is, it may be the best course I’ve played when factoring cost. Some holes are a bit gimmicky but overall, layout, conditions and price this place is a 10/10

Great course. The layout is challenging and requires you to use all of the clubs in your bag. Course is in great condition and the staff was extremely friendly. We will be back to play this gem of a course soon.

A well kept, relaxing, and fun golf course. Definitely worth playing and don't let some of the short holes deceive you.

Great golf course. The senior rate for 18 holes riding was $37. The course is in excellent condition. Greens are in excellent condition and are challenging. Bunkers have real sand. Golf carts are clean and run well. Fairways are well groomed as is the rough. Overall a great experience and a challenging course to play. Plenty of free parking. I will definitely be back to play this course.

If you enjoy four groups on a par 3 on the front and back this is your course. If you love playing behind old ladies that hit 7-10 shots on the fairway alone this is your place. Played there twice this month attempting to see if the first time was a random occurrence , WRONG it’s all the time. Don’t let the cheap prices foul you, you will be disappointed.

Played this course for the first time yesterday, and it might be my new favorite local course. Great condition, challenging but not in an obnoxious way, and not overly priced. I really enjoyed it

This was a great municipal golf course in Springfield. The course was challenging without being too hard at the same time. Course was also in great shape, greens were soft and receptive, and putt very true. Good selection of food and drinks in the clubhouse as well. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

First time there today gof course is in amazing condition. And great hospitality in clubhouse. I've only played 1 course that was on top of the list and that was pleasant valley country club and this course equals that course without a doubt

Played on Sunday, 6/12/16 and the course was in fantastic shape. Tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens were great. Fun layout and I will definitely play again next time I am in the Springfield area. My friend and I had the course to ourselves and finished 18 in about 3 hours. FYI after 12 PM they don't take tee times and use first come, first serve. We payed $40 each to play 18 including cart.
