What People Say

In summary

Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Club is generally appreciated for its friendly staff, well-maintained course, and enjoyable layout, with some visitors highlighting the water challenges and scenic setting. However, some players have noted issues such as slow greens, uneven tee boxes, and bare spots on fairways. Despite these concerns, many find the course to be a fun and worthwhile experience for golfers of all levels.

Decent course, especially for the area. That said, the course is not without things that could be improved. My biggest complaint with the course is the speed of the greens; the greens range from being laughably-slow to painfully-slow. Outside of that, uneven tee boxes on a few holes, some fairways have spots that are perennially bare, and roots which have grown through the cart path in several spots, but these are common critiques of any course in a 30 mi radius.

Good lay out. Employees are friendly. Greens are pretty decent shape. But at the moment the tee boxes are un level and over grown in most cases and fairways are dead bare and hard. The rough is like a pasture. Disappointed normally in better shape hopefully will be in a month or two.

Course is in good shape, but it holds water really bad. 90% of the time it is cart path only. Tee boxes could be leveled out. It also could use a few sand traps.

Had a great time. It's a nice course, but it's minimum difficulty; straight fairways with no difficulty in reaching par for a sub par player like myself.

Fun course, well maintained with lots of water challenges. Relatively very flat with long runs. Worth playing at least once.

Wow. First time at this golf course and it was worth the drive from Joplin. Feels and looks like any private country club. Course was excellent shape. Wide fairways but ruff was rough kinda deep. You have a few water holes because it is situated around a huge stocked lake. If you brought a fishing pole you can pay to fish or pull out the clubs and enjoy a good challenging round. Seniors and ladies have a generous tee box on most all holes. Its just a gem of a course out in the country. Put it on your GPS and give it a visit.
