In summary

Glen Abbey Golf Club is often praised for its challenging and scenic layout, particularly the picturesque back nine that descends into a valley, as well as the overall course maintenance and friendly staff. Many appreciate the historical significance and unique features of the course, such as the iconic 18th hole. However, some visitors have expressed disappointment with the course's value for money, citing inconsistent greens and occasional issues with pace of play and amenities like beverage carts and sand traps.

I've played Glen Abbey a few times a year for the last 15 years, which is why the slide over the past 2–3 years hurt to watch. The issues were everywhere: bunkers eroding at the faces and lips, washouts left to harden, and sand consistency all over the map. Greens lost their edge—softer, slower, and shaggy enough to blunt good putts. Five-hour rounds became part of the mental prep. Even the intangibles slipped: the front-of-house rhythm felt more like a transaction than a welcome. Many of us chalked it up to the development saga and the course stepping away from hosting the Canadian Open—why…

Did not live up to expectations. This course plays like a mid tier course at best. Course conditions are VERY average. As a Canadian golfer (after hearing so much hype about Glen Abbey), I'm a bit heartbroken. This was a bucket list course of mine, and when I finally got a chance to play here, I saw greens that were riddled with bumps (putts didn't roll true/smooth) Course and hole layouts were very mediocre. And most importantly, the way the greens would receive approach shots did not make me feel like I was playing a high end course. They were firm and dried out, wedge shots did not spin th…

Excellent golf course. Huge championship facility with cart shuttle from the carpark to the pro shop. Semi-open parkland front 9, and then beautiful drop into the valley for the start of the back 9. The greens were cut tight and slower than they looked (and I expected) mid July, but still had good subtle breaks. Green complexes were quite good with large bunkering. The rough was very even and playable, quite short and not overly punishing. The front 9 is decent but quite flat with a few repetitive holes and some nice little water features. 3rd hole par 3 quite nice over water. Back 9 down into…

Course was in pretty great shape. Tough course. Greens were hard to read. We played just after 4pm and a tournament had just finished. There was no cart person throughout the round which was a bit frustrating. The holes through the valley are absolutely amazing and picturesque!

Ray Sahi has ruined what was once a beautiful & historic golf course. 5:15+ round, no Marshalls, no beverage carts and every bunker is unplayable. Would expect far better for the prices they are charging.

Well first off weather was great so that makes for a good start. The course in general was in good shape considering it hasn’t rained much lately, a few dry patches and such but the greens were great and quite a few of the bunkers (unfortunately) had good sand that was not compacted. Pace of play was great, not really waiting much, four hour round shot in the 90s for our group. There is a few holes where water comes into play but there are ample opportunities to avoid losing your ball. Most of the fairways off the deck have a pretty wide range if where you could put your ball and still mainta…

Love this course. Other than the totally disinterested person picking you and your clubs up from the parking lot, the service is great and the golf course is beautiful. TY.

I played here this morning and couse was in great condition. It was a team event so overall very happy with service and challenges with some of the holes. Ground staff did a great job to keep course in prestine condition.

Not very good value for the money they charge. Golf carts very old. We were given a cart that died in three holes. no club washers , no drink carts. Tee boxes heavily chewed up. Staff is great. Just didn't feel like i was playing a prestige course. Lots of better choices out there for this kind of money.

One of the most prestigious courses I have ever played at! It’s very nostalgic with “the shot” on the 18th and the green sitting right next to the amazing club house! The back 9 is definitely more challenging and fun to play than the front, but regardless the greens, the fairway and the tee boxes are in amazing condition. Would definitely go again !
