In summary

Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful fairways, and challenging layout, with many considering it one of the best public courses in the Tampa area. The staff is often described as warm and welcoming, contributing to a positive experience for both local and visiting golfers. However, some visitors have noted issues with course management, such as slow pace of play and communication challenges, which can detract from the overall experience. Additionally, there are concerns about the management of the residential community, with some residents expressing dissatisfaction with the homeowners' association.

Gaspar Golf’s Black Skull League plays at Heritage Isles once a month, and the course is always in great shape. The greens are a nice speed and roll true. Fun layout. The GM, Greg, and pro, Chris, are awesome at what they do. The practice green is the fastest in the Tampa Bay Area. The par 3 holes are no joke from the blue tees. Great course and the rates are some of the best in Tampa.

Played here on Friday on a trip from the UK, and can't say enough about the experience. From the guy in the pro shop, to the starter, the ranger and clubhouse staff everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. The course was in great shape, with the greens running quick and true. The 2 members that I was paired with were very friendly and helped me to plot my way round. Will definitely be back if I'm ever back in Tampa

We were directed to start on the 10th hole even though the 1st tee was completely open. When we arrived at hole 10, there were already four foursomes waiting. We understand there may have been a reason for this decision, but unfortunately, it wasn’t clearly explained to us. Also, at 9:00 a.m., range balls were still unavailable, while a few employees were chatting in the garage watching us wait for someone to connect the machine. That being said, the course itself was absolutely exceptional — truly spectacular conditions, and one of the best rounds of golf of my life. And for the price, it w…

FUTURE HOMEOWNERS BEWARE: 1. It’s complete chaos between the homeowners, the board, and the management company, which is used as puppets to do what the board wants. The president of the board has a Napoleon complex and thinks he can say and do whatever he wants. 2. The management company will fine you for the most insignificant items. Example: Wednesday garbage was put out in the morning and not even five hours had passed before a fine was issued, as they seem to have quotas. Not even a 24 hr courtesy. Another example: a small part of my house was discolored and they wanted me to paint the ent…

My kids absolutely love their Saturday mornings at First Tee Golf here at Heritage Isles—it's the perfect blend of fun, skill-building, and life lessons that keeps them coming back week after week. Watching them swing clubs with newfound confidence while learning values like respect and perseverance has been a game-changer for our family, fostering not just better golfers but kinder, more resilient young people. The coaches are patient superstars who make every session engaging and inclusive, turning what could be a stuffy sport into pure joy. If you're looking for a program that scores big on…

I’ve been golfing here since 2004 and have never seen the course in such amazing condition. It’s been a few months since I played until yesterday and it looks like all the bunkers were replaced. The fairways, approach area and greens are great. I think it’s the best public course in the Tampa area. GREAT JOB!!!

Fantastic driving range and the only one I know of in the Tampa area that is on water, where the balls float! Very well kept, and nice area to practice putting and chipping as well. Large bucket of balls is $11 and the clubhouse restaurant has outdoor seating that overlooks the range. It's one of the only courses in this area that is open to the public, which is nice because not everyone who enjoys golf can afford to be a member somewhere.

Visited the driving range this week and they only had mats to tee off from and unfortunately the mat I had was sunken in the middle. Not a huge ordeal but the other mats were taken so I couldn't switch, made it tough to practice. A few other mats also didn't appear to be in great shape. Moved over to putting and saw a group of younger people teeing off on the range, a few appeared to be getting training. An older male employee smoking a cigar came walking over to them and barked in his strong NY accent "You need to hit your balls into the water, not on the grass, we have to pick them up!". The…

Worst pace of play. No Ranger supporting a busy course. Add insult to injury - it was a Heritage Isle Employee in the 3-some holding up three groups of 4 behind them without allowing anyone the courtesy to play through before dark… Even the starter made No effort to correct the issue with the HI Employee Group jumping in between 4 Player Groups after they arrived late for their tee time. Terrible Course Management. Buyer beware.

I’ve always enjoyed playing Heritage Isles Golf Club, but the customer service experience lately has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I left a golf towel at the course last week—my fault, no argument there. However, what’s unacceptable is spending an entire morning trying to reach the golf shop with absolutely no success. Calls go unanswered, you’re routed through an AI phone system, then transferred to an overseas call center where communication is difficult, and ultimately they attempt to call the golf shop on your behalf… which also goes unanswered. Not that long ago, you coul…
