In summary

Hickory Hills Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained grounds, scenic setting, and friendly, accommodating staff. The course layout, featuring a mix of par 3s and 4s, is ideal for honing short game skills, and the on-site amenities, including popular Bloody Marys, enhance the overall experience. Some visitors note areas for improvement, such as the absence of a driving range and occasional slow greens, but these do not overshadow the generally positive feedback.

Enjoyed the course layout for short course. Challenges with elevation and smallish greens. Sand is super spongy and difficult to hit green side. Greens had just been aerated and were longer and difficult to navigate, but I’d love to play it mid season. Love the fountains!

Celebrated our daughter’s High school graduation yesterday in the small building. It was just the right size. Space was great! The staff was completely accommodating, especially John, anything we needed they were on it!!! We had our putters and balls for guests to putt and bags outside. Would absolutely hold other events at Hickory!

Hickory Hills is one of those places that makes you wonder how it’s still such a steal for what you get. The course is always incredibly well maintained — greens, fairways, facilities — everything feels cared for and intentional. I love that it offers a variety of hole lengths and challenges, so whether you’re playing for fun or trying to dial in your game, it keeps things interesting. The location is perfect — scenic enough that you feel like you’re out in the country, but it’s barely out of town, which makes it so convenient. And let’s talk about the Bloody Marys… hands down some of the b…

Very nice course and a great value after 5pm. $1 per hole. Very scenic and not too difficult to play. And not too many trouble areas.

Very well maintained course. Some challenging holes for an executive course. No driving range. No drinking water. No beverage cart. Friendly staff. Greens are SLOW but consistent. Tee boxes are pretty chewed up. Golf carts don’t have sand. Bathrooms are okay. Greens are small and hard to hit. Playing regularly here would improve your short game for sure.

If I had to rank this course, I'd have to say that this is my favorite course to play in the Eau Claire area. There are higher quality courses in EC, but Hickory Hills is still a good quality course with great prices and a staff that is always super friendly. The course is a shorter course with no par 5's. The front 9 is mostly par 4s with a few threes, the back nine is mostly par 3s with a few fours. This is a great course to practice your irons, and walking 18 is no problem at all.

Coming into Hickory Hills Golf Course you are greeted by smiles and immediately made to feel welcome. You are there to have fun and that’s how you are treated with good drinks, a decent course and a lot of laughs. Hickory Hills is a great place to host any golf event for a large group, charity or otherwise. Come play a round and see for yourself.

Nice course, good layout but the young greenskeepers are always in the way, they dont have good flow for their work they work in front of you rather than around you. they have very little respect for golfers, theyre not very friendly an it becomes very frustrating to see a nice course hire younger people who act like theyre better than the paying customers ... 3 stars only because of the course layout
