In summary

Hickory Hills Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained grounds, varied and challenging layout, and friendly staff. The course offers a mix of open and hilly holes, with a driving range and a clubhouse that serves good food. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play, the condition of certain greens, and the policy of charging for tee times upon booking, which has led to some dissatisfaction.

An immaculately groomed course that is challenging and fair. No hunting for your ball in tall grass or overgrown shrubbery, only the most extreme off-line shot might be a lost ball. The clubhouse support team is courteous and friendly, no "warnings" about "speeding up" are heard. The restaurant menu is varied, and the meals delicious. Green fees are reasonable and affordable. I always enjoy golfing at Hickory Hill in Methuen MA.

I like the layout here a lot. Longer and more open on the front, hilly and tighter on the back. The course is in great shape, especially given the rain this summer, and the greens are rolling really nicely. The food in the clubhouse is very good, drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff is great. The driving range has grass tees and sees a lot of traffic, but it's a good spot to warm up and hit a few before your round.

Hickory Hill - Methuen Had high expectations going into my round today. Had a great time on in the front 9. We stopped at the clubhouse at the turn and grabbed a couple hot dogs and some drinks. The group behind us didn’t go in so we let them play through. 2 minutes later here come ranger Joe telling us the place is sold out and we don’t let people play through. So instead he made the group wait for us to play. We could have just taken their spot in line but apparently that was too much to comprehend for this gentleman Fast forward to 13th fairway. Ranger Bill comes up to us saying we are go…

Decent course with a fun layout. They charge way too much for the conditions the greens are in though. The greens are very bumpy and patchy. Lots of other courses in the area with far better conditions for less money, and butter brook is 10x nicer for only 7$ more.

Buyer beware!! I booked a tee time for me and my friend online and my friend ended up having to cancel. This is the only golf course that I’ve ever booked with online that charges your card right away. They would not give me a refund for the slot that I had to cancel Only a rain check which although it sounds fair on paper, I really don’t wanna go back there because the way they cram in tee times, it turns into a five hour round every time I’ve ever played there. The course itself is decent and in good condition, but that’s where the positive part ends.

Front nine is flat and wide open, the back is tight and hilly. Fair, fun course to play

I golfed here with my dad as our Bi weekly golf game and had one of the worst experiences inside the restaurant. Manager/Bartender acted as if we were an inconvenience to her and we were not given great service. When we asked for a second round of drinks to finish our game she seemed annoyed rather than happy to have the business as She loudly announced “I can’t wait to get out of here” a friend of mine had warned us about the service already but we decided to give them a chance I think will skip there this season would rather go to Merrimack or four oaks.

Great course staff is little pushy as far as keeping up with pace of play and and letting you know where you can leave cart, seems like they were all in a rush to leave.

As a new golfer, I booked the last Tee times all summer long and the pro shop staff were EXTREMELY friendly to newbies. They were even nice enough to give me BOXES of free golf balls collected from the course over the year and were super encouraging. Definitely check them out.

First time I have played here in many years. There is a driving range over by the 10th tee. $8 token for a large bucket is very reasonable. It was a tale of two 9 holes really. The first 9 holes were in generally really good shape tee to green. The second 9 was less so. The 11th hole was is really bad shape especially the fairway, that hole wasn't worth playing to be honest. Lots of the greens on the second 9 were partially covered by leaves. In the fall I guess you have to live with it but still annoying. The first 9 the greens were completely clear. As a whole the greens played well and quic…

Club house and staff was great. We had breakfast before we teed off, great food! Course was still preseason and was wet in many places, but a very nice and challenging course. Nothing but very good things to say. Some of the greens were a bit rough, that is the only reason for 4 stars.
