In summary

Highlands of Donegal is appreciated for its unique layout, featuring rolling hills and diverse holes that provide a fun and challenging experience. However, many visitors have expressed concerns about the course's maintenance, particularly regarding the condition of the greens and tee boxes, with some noting issues like crabgrass and bare patches. While staff friendliness is generally praised, the course's pricing has been criticized in light of the current conditions.

Little hidden gem in Mt. Joy. Movement like no other course in the area for sure. Up and down, left and right. Not just an "up and back" course like many of the local public courses. The greens - though they look a little shaggy - roll true and will reward a well struck putt as much as they'd penalize a poorly struck one. I feel like the best time to play is early in the morning or late in the day for a beautiful light that accentuates the rolling hills and water features. This course rewards good course management, and can be fun from ANY tee, so if you're a big hitter, you don't need to pla…

Okay course. I hadn't been here for a few years and it's not as well maintained as it used to be.

Absolutely brutal conditions for a course charging $58.00 to play on the weekend. Crab grass all over the tee boxes and fairways, burned out, yet muddy greens. Unplayable, boring layout, will not return.

My review of this course has drastically changed over the past year and a half. I used to play this course every Saturday morning, but I’m afraid I may not return. Besides the course not being in the same shape it has been in the past, one of the owners who stands out on the porch of the clubhouse is just downright mean and an old grump. For some reason he felt the need to tell me to join carts with someone I didn’t even know mid round, and when he danced around telling me to do that I politely asked him, “would you like me to join carts with him?”. His response was so out of line, and when I…

Played this course today and it is in awful shape. The tee boxes have 5 inch crabgrass growing on them for some reason and most of the greens have huge bare spots on them that makes them impossible to putt on. We were told that it’s a fungus due to the humidity. I play 2-3 times a week, all over south central pa and Maryland and have never seen fungus like this or greens in this shape. The most unfortunate part of my round is that they still charged us full price, $46, when the greens and tee boxes were in such condition. Plenty of other courses to play in the area.

Not happy with them at all. I paid for a Twilight membership and now halfway through the year they decide to raise the cart fee. Not sure if legally they can do that but either way it’s bad business and I won’t be a member next year for sure. Cart fee was $5 for 9 holes and now it’s $10. It still says $5 on their website.

Golf course is ok at best. I play it because it's so close. My golfing buddies like to jest about the "carnival" holes! I will say that Brian does a fantastic job of making patrons welcome and giving great tips about the course. FORE and 3 stars is about all I can say about the course.

Very nice for the price, only $25 to walk on Sunday afternoon, lots of area needs repair but can't really complain, we are not pros , it was very nice for us and we had a very good time, FYI lots of hills if your waking be ready. Well definitely go again

This place has so much potential, but sadly the course is in bad shape. Tee boxes are lumpy and have bad grass. Holes 7,8, and 9 have the sorriest excuse for greens on the entire planet. The traps are in dire need of fresh sand and a good raking. The fairways have multiple types of grass growing and chalked full of weeds. To whoever owns this course: It really has a great layout, no 2 holes alike. There a few really awesome links style holes too. So you have tremendous potential to have a GREAT course, but you need to do some TLC and renovating. You cannot continue to charge the rates you are…

Played this course last weekend (4/9). Used to be a clean short course in good shape but it was brutal. Tee box grass was as long as the rough, bunks were in bad shape and there were maybe 2 greens that didn’t have patches all over it. There’s three holes in a row in the front nine by the river that had more dirt than grass on the greens. I understand it’s early in the year, courses are starting to aerate the greens and it will (hopefully) look better as the golf season progresses. But for $60, to play a course that needs that much work, I was expecting a lot more.
