In summary

Hillcrest Golf Center is praised for its friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained greens, and affordability, making it a popular choice for beginners and families. The course's short layout is appreciated for quick rounds and accommodating players with varying skill levels. However, some visitors have noted issues with the mini golf area being in poor condition and occasional slow pace of play due to larger groups.

I cannot speak to the golf course or the driving range but at first glance, it’s in rough shape. However, I can confirm that the mini golf is not with the money. Even if it was free, it would still get one star. I don’t think any employee has walked out there in the past 2-3 years. It’s overgrown and the “greens” are patchy. There’s even a hole that has a cup which is above the level of the green making it impossible to actually sink a putt. Everything is rusty so come after your tetanus shot.

My husband and I love to go here! The price is reasonable, the people are very friendly and the course is fun to do! Our kids love the mini golf too 😄

Gem of a golf course located in the heart of Washington. Love the back nine for a quick round of fun.

Grass was green and lush. Greens were in great shape. The course let me out early to get a round in before work. Allowed me to pay upon them opening their doors, at 7:00 am when I finished my round. Good driving range although it’s off synthetic turf. Very nice course for the value. Downside is they charge for a ride along in a cart if you’re bringing an observer who isn’t playing. Additionally, as of late, there’s been a lot of “five-somes” out and about who have slowed play down significantly.

Chuck is a great teacher, I’d recommend lessons with him any day. Nice place to play.

I played this course for the very first time on Oct. 2nd. Found it to be in very good shape and the greens were faster than all the Peoria Park District courses. The $27 fee was nice because it also included the riding cart.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice, short course for beginning and intermediate golfers. The greens are the toughest part. It is not usually busy there which is nice. Easy to play 9 holes in an hour in a half.

Stopped in to hit a quick bucket over lunch and got a chance to speak with the owner. What a guy, what a story, and what resilience. Just someone with immense love for keeping the game of golf alive in the area after experiencing that devastating tornado in 2013. You can genuinely feel good supporting this place. Is it Augusta? Nah. But what it lacks in pretentious atmosphere, it makes up for with friendliness. Will be back and frequently. It's the Cheers of the golf world.

Take this course for what it is. Good value for a chance to play something different. It's a short course that you can use to touch up the irons. Holes average distance between 125 and 250, and the course is very constricted as the holes play very tight to each other. Given the price point and location, it's a good place to swing by for a quick round. The grass was cut and the greens were in good shape (played a little slow but presented a good challenge). All in all, I will probably play it again when I visit because it's a good location and we had zero issues during our last visit.

Great little course. My dad struggles a little with health and this course allows him to still play 18 holes because of the short yardage. Fun course and very friendly staff. God willing my dad and I will be playing here for several years!!

My grandson had his first golf lesson with Mr. Bishoff. Mr. Bishoff was patient and worked on the fundamentals helping him to make contact with the ball. Frustration was never a problem. I recommend the course and employees highly. It was a great experience.
