In summary

Newman Golf Course is generally appreciated for its reasonable pricing, decent course conditions, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors. The course is noted for its scenic setting and suitability for beginners, although some players have experienced issues with slow play and occasional maintenance concerns, such as dry tee boxes and dead spots around the greens. While many find it a good value, a few have reported negative interactions with staff regarding pace of play.

Greens were not bad, even though being aerated, they rolled true. Fairways needed water. Bunkers were in good shape for the most part. Staff nice. Course was not in very good shape for 50 dollars.

The course was in pretty good conditions for beginning of May. The greens were a little fast, bc the grass hadn't grown all the back in making it bright green, it should be there in another week or two. Played 18 holes, Tee time was 2pm. Didn't have a group behind us the whole round. There were groups in front of us, but they didn't hold us up that much. Definitely worth the 34$ for 18 holes and a cart. Now I only paid 20$ for the 18, bc I went at 2pm so I got to pay twilight fees. At that price I would definitely go back.

Worker came over and told us we were getting complained about for going too slow (second time ever golfing so yea its gonna take a minute) even after we let 2 other players play past us, then was trying to question our parenting, so if youve got kids i wouldn't recommend this course, all in all we will not be bringing our business here any longer, plenty of other places in peoria

Lovely course and a great place to hold a cross country meet which was the cause of our visit. Parking attendants could use more training.

Nice course for a Peoria Park District course. Not overly challenging, but a great place to play for less money than the other public courses in the area. We did have to pause our play at least a few times because of "locals" cutting across the course as a shortcut though.

Course and greens were in fantastic shape after a storm. Greens are usually VERY fast when it's dry. Clubhouse is nice. Kitchen could use a little updating but I was more than satisfied with their selection! Also, reasonably priced!

As a visitor to Peoria I thought I would golf this afternoon. I ended up choosing Newman because Kellogg didn't have a tee time when I was available. I played the back 9. The gentlemen that checked me in and gave me the keys to the cart were nice. When I got on the course, I was very disappointed. There was a chunk of the driving path that was missing, plenty of dead spots around the greens. It appeared that the course was not well maintained. Each hole had its positives and it's negatives. Ultimately, the negatives outweighed the positives. In the event I'm in Peoria again, I won't be comin…

Nice course but I’ll go somewhere else unless this is only place available. Golf is good but we’ve had too many times of regular players at this course hitting into you on purpose and not waiting until you walk off the green. I’ll take our group somewhere else.

This is a nice course, but I have played better. Since Donovan was closed, Newman has gotten a little more attention and the grounds are nicer in general. If you haven't considered playing at Newman, it's worth a try.

Winter review: absolutely gorgeous location to go trekking in the snow. You have a good chance at spotting deer. Also, the NE corner has a couple of fantastic sledding hills

This place is a golf course and I don't know why anyone would post a picture of the Budweiser horses being. As far as I know they have never been there. If you want to golf in Peoria then this is one place to go. I feel the best golf course is Kellogg. Both are owned by the Peoria Park District.

Course is great, challenging and well maintained. The starter and lady behind the counter were rude.
