Lake Blackshear is a great place to visit. The park is well kept, and the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. We stayed in cabin 4 and it was a wonderful experience. The cabins are well furnished and have all of the cooking utensils, pots, pans that one would need to cook meals. The only thing lacking was that there are not areas for campfires at the cabins. We rented a boat, kayaked, fished, hit the driving range, biked and took in the museum exhibits. As for the cabins, they are spaced out nicely and you can see lots of deer and wildlife from the porch. The lake views from the cabin por…

My first time staying at the Cottages on Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club, and it was a great experience. I stayed in Cottage C4, and it was very peaceful and quiet—exactly what I was looking for. The cottage was spacious, had a full kitchen, and plenty of room with four beds, which made it perfect for relaxing and spreading out comfortably. The setting around Lake Blackshear is beautiful and calm, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the stay. Everything was clean, well kept, and comfortable. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend if you’re…

We went camping in the Georgia Veterans State Park at Lake Blackshear. It was a nice space with good access to all the venue options. The electrical worked great and the spots were easy to pull in and out of. Caretakers were friendly and did a great job. Both tent and RV spots were available, so if you like to Camp, you should come and experience.

Really beautiful with hiking and a variety of accommodations whether you need a cabin, a campsite or a glamping tent. It was nice. They had restaurants on site or you can bring your own groceries. Nice southern charm.

We have been coming here for the past 4 years, we love it. The cabins are nice, the campground is nice. We love the lake and the sunsets are so pretty. The staff is always so warm and welcoming. It is one of the trips I look forward to every year!

We always enjoy camping here but this last time was to noisy. I understand there is maintenance to be done around the campground but we tried to take a nap and lawnmowers were steady running around our camper. On Christmas day we couldn't rest because of a machine just running for hours. This is just my opinion but if people are in campers lawnmowers should not be around that camper. The host never came by to see if we needed anything. In time past most host come by to see if you need any firewood. We left early cause we couldn't take it anymore. This is the only place we usually camp.

We stayed in a great 2 bedroom Cabin. Fireplace in a spacious living room. The kitchen was a very good size. Both bedrooms had 2 queen beds. The cabin was very clean.

The cabins could use some updating, especially the bathrooms. The furniture looked like the early 80s, but they did have flat screen TVs, so that was nice. Our cabin had a ramp for wheelchairs but not all cabins had one. The outside lighting did not work. Without the use of vehicle headlights, we would have been in total darkness.

Amazing scenery! So many things to do and see. lots of trails, you could spend the whole day walking and not see every trail. And everything you need is a quick drive out of the park. The camp host are very nice and helpful, don't be shy!

We were just there for the weekend to take our son to see Thomas the Train. The campground was very nice and the views were great. All the grounds and common areas are maintained very well. We are definitely planning a return trip.
