Lake Doster Golf Club

We typically go golfing here, and even though the course is getting worked on- it’s a great and challenging course!! Bonus: you get amazing sights of deer and turtles!! We did my wedding here and it was amazing! from getting all the details secured with Krista to the actual event!! I love the banquet area- it’s very sleek, and looks so good for photos!!

Beautiful course with a unique layout. Lake Doster is a golf course that I frequently visit due to their constant and high effort upkeeping that leaves the fairways spotless. Such a hidden gem for anyone in michigan.

Lake Doster Golf Club is a diamond in the ruff. If you live in the community you know the staff and food are fantastic. The Chef, William, makes amazing dishes and will surpass your expectations. Highly recommend a friday night outing as they have a dynamic menu on Fridays.

This course was a great track to play a couple years ago, the past two years I’ve played it while visiting Michigan and have not been impressed. The course condition has gotten worse each year! I will give it one more try next year but my expectations have lowered each time I’ve played it to the point that I’m over it!

Nice layout, poor conditions. Only the green side bunkers on the back 9 were playable, the rest were full of rocks and weeds or piles of sand they haven't finished spreading. Tee boxes were in bad shape too, especially one par 3 on the front that just had some nasty waterlogged mats to hit off of. The greens seemed pretty inconsistent, some fast, some slow. A couple places needed more signage, e.g. after the 18th hole the cart path ends on a public street in a subdivision where you can't actually see the clubhouse, so hopefully you remember what the entrance drive looked like. Enjoyed this golf course...very hilly though but NO bathrooms on the course which makes it better suited for men.

Got a gift card for my Birthday to play here. Online they offer a 30% discount so my gift card was for 4 people with a cart for 18 holes. I go to book online and they don't accept gift cards for online purchases. So either I have to pay $60 more to use the gift card or my gift card is useless. I even called in and they offered no solutions.

They are still working on this course from its downfall apparently five years ago. Its great design and incredibly challenging greens are redeeming factors right now. Bunkers are being rebuilt. The fairways need a little more water but the greens are in great shape with one or two being in good shape The course puts heavy pressure on your accuracy and shot shaping ability adjustment to elevation change. Layout is great, but some tee boxes and all Sand traps were being worked on. A lot of holes were uphill and most greens were sloped and challenging...depending on your skill level it could be a challenging course

38$ plus 15$ a person for a shared cart is a absolute joke. Greens were ok at best. Every tee box was garbage. Bunkers weren’t playable due to repairs. Won’t be back here maybe ever. Used to be a good course. Not anymore.

We were notified when checking in that the bunkers were under repair and to play outside of them. It does not appear that any work is happening. Most bunkers had piles of dirt that had weeds growing from them. Tee areas were a mess. Course is poorly marked. No wonder there were plenty of tee times available. Spending hard earned money on golf is a choice and Lake Doster will not be on my list of choices or recommendations in the future. My fault for not reading the reviews in advance.
