What People Say

In summary

Lake Redding Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice for many golfers. The layout and setting receive positive remarks, with some golfers enjoying the challenging yet fun experience. However, several visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as poor greens and soggy fairways, as well as slow pace of play and occasional management concerns. Recent ownership changes and ongoing renovations suggest potential improvements in the future.

I have been playing golf at lake Redding since the late 1970's. It has always been a fun course to play. I've seen the course through good and not so good conditions, with a few owner changes. Recently the new owners have put in a lot of hard work this last year to make this course mostly enjoyable again!

Fun layout. Reachable par 4’s. Super soggy cart paths and fairways. Cart paths are rough. Greens are SO bad. Worst putting experience I’ve dealt with. The grass is overgrown or dirt/patchy on every hole. Employees were very kind. They have golf carts for rent or pull carts. Renovations are happening soon due to the course being purchased by a new owner last September. Course has potential, looking forward to seeing if the greens turn around.

Nice atmosphere, but the course is rough. I lost a number of golf balls in the fairways due to the weedy conditions. A few of the holes had water in the cup. Students get free club rental!

Golf this course very frequently, about 5 times a week. I know they are trying very hard to repair this course but recently have tried to golf in the middle of the day and all the sprinklers were turned on. The entire 9 holes had sprinklers going. Maybe should not have them going on a Saturday afternoon. Did not golf because of this. 🤨

To make a long story short: skip this course and go to the best one locally, which is Grape Ranch in Palo Cedro. For those that want to hear about the negative experience(s) my family has had here, keep reading. To set a background of the story, my family and I have been to this course probably about a dozen times total. The first negative experience we had was regarding a contradiction between the coworkers in the morning and the evening. We had called the course around 11AM to ask when the latest we could rent a golf cart, because I was extremely pregnant and had a hard time walking without…

Amazing pitch and putt experience. Greens are luscious and nice, fairways are in wonderful shape. It’s definitely a rinky dinky place but for the value, laid back experience it is truly a little paradise. Also… it’s doggo friendly LETS GO!!!

I am typing this as I am sitting on the tee box of the ninth hole, waiting to finish a round that took way too long to play. I’ve played here quite a lot of times, and the course is getting in better shape over time which is nice. That being said, the pace of play is atrocious. They do nothing to make sure you aren’t waiting 10 minutes at each tee box, and almost every time you come out there’s a long line from the first tee all the way to the ninth tea and it’s insanely backed up. Today alone I saw two groups of 5 and also a group of 6, no wonder the course is always backed up. I get it’s a…

I absolutely love this course! The people are extremely friendly and welcoming, the scrambles on Wednesday night are a blast. Would highly recommend this one for a great time.
