In summary

Mangrove Bay Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, enjoyable layout, and accommodating staff, offering a good value for golfers of all skill levels. The practice facilities and proximity to the Cypress Links par-3 course enhance its appeal for those looking to improve their game. Mangrove Bay is one of the best value public golf courses in the St. Pete area. The course has a great practice setup with a putting green, chipping area, and driving range, making it a really good place to improve your game no matter your skill level. The rates are affordable, especially for residents and junior golfers, and the course is very walkable. It’s a fun Florida-style layout where some holes are open enough to help you recover from slices or missed shots, so it stays enjoyable for beginners while still offering enough challenge for experienced players. The greens are usually in ve…

I’ll be honest — my last visit to Mangrove Bay was an awful, awful experience, and I wasn’t sure I’d ever return. But after hearing so many great recent reviews, I decided to give it another chance, and I’m truly glad I did. Yesterday’s round completely changed my opinion. The management has clearly stepped up — everything ran smoothly and professionally. The greens were in excellent shape, the course looked beautiful, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable. It was a great experience from start to finish. Well done to the Mangrove Bay team for the improvements — I’ll definitely…

Very nice course and organized. Luckily, we were paired with some locals who play regularly, and they knew the course front to back which helped alot. Condition was what you expect from a local muni. Greens were different from hole to hole but it is also very dry right now in Florida. Layout was cool and clubhouse was nice. I would play this course again for sure. Good bang for your buck.

Great value. Beautiful greens and fairways. Easy going scheduling. Staff is friendly and considerate. Simple and easy food and beverage choices. The holes are all challenging and satisfying in different ways. The branded merchandise in the pro shop is all stylish and relevant. I personally love walking 9 in the morning for the sunrise deal. It's great exercise and like I said, genuinely a beautiful course to play.

went golfing for the first time ever today and my friends took me here. Was instantly greeted by an irate woman who apparently worked there and told us we needed to be at hole one "NOWWWW" (our tee time was at 10:40 and we had arrived around 10:25. This was a bit odd but I figured "hey maybe she needed us to start" mind you again this is my first time golfing I havent even held a club before this. This same irate woman comes out yelling at us on hole one saying "WE DONT HAVE TIME FOR SLOW PLAY, 10 MINUTES A HOLE" and im thinking "I just paid my own hard earned money to be yelled at by one of t…

Nice course, inexpensive and they allowed my wife to ride along .( I did pay for two golfers and 18 holes ). With a tee time at 4:22 I didn’t think it would take 3 1/2 hours to play nine holes, but the club house would have known and could have told me not to pay for 18 but whatever, there are a lot of courses in Florida. I’ll be playing others while I’m in town.

Snowbirding nearby ive been to both courses. Remember the 9 hole course is first if going to 18 hole keep driving. Cypress 9 hole par 3 can be walked easy but power carts available (you must stay on cement walkway). In and out in hour and a half or less. Course is challanging enough, is in great shape, greens good shape. Ive played here 4 times no washroom on course. Mangrove Bay 18 holes public - got dropped into a foresome with some local friendly guys. Course/Greens are in great shape. Beautiful landscape, lots of water, several bathrooms along the way, drink cart, pop/water vending an…

Decent course, service and management is bottom tier. Latest in screw ups at the course - call 5 days ahead to book a tee time for a solo , told that i will be paired with a 2 or 3 going out, this was the first they didn’t let me book for a solo but ok.. show up to the course at the time I inquired about to be told that because I didn’t book a time I’m waiting behind “8-12”. My advice either play somewhere else as a solo or book for a 4 and tell them your group bailed.

I've been playing this course since I was in high school, and boy have things changed. The group i was with was more worried about playing music and overall just complaining about everything. I know this it's the course fault, but it just go to sho where the game has gone. I guess im to old school to play alongside people who want to be at a nightclub instead of a golf course. Also none of them fix divot marks on the greens or the fairway. I left after four holes because I can't play with clowns that have no idea

The course is in good shape and the greens are in very good shape. However, the driving range is absolutely terrible. I don’t understand why they simply don’t put in driving range mats on their range like they have at the the Twin Brooks course which is also a public St Petersburg course - and the mats there are very good and much better than driving off the dirt at Mangrove Bay. If it wasn’t for the range I would have rated it a 4.
