Really awesome course. Played 9in 1 hour with hitting few extra shots and enjoying the walk. You can tell the crew really cares about the course. The greens are just in great shape and are fast. I was expecting a bit more bounce with how dry it’s been (maybe not as dry as where I live) but was happy at how receptive they were. The first and second hole are a bit deceiving of how open the rest of the course is (which I enjoyed). I think I heard of this course on a podcast & did just enough research to get a taste of it but not too much where I didn’t know every shot/hole in advance. The waste a…

You won’t find a better value. Greens are in surprisingly good shape. The rest of the course is, well, unique... I have never seen rock walls across the middle of the fairway and in front of greens. This 9 hole course has about 6. Owner is super friendly and overall it was a great value.

First time out on this course. Mid September, golf 2022, perfect weather here. Best greens I've played this year, rolled smooth and fast. A few dry areas on the fairways and the occasional weedy spot, very playable, natural feeling landscape, not overly primped up. Cross walls, precision carries, sloped greens and a few tight approaches make this a challenging and interesting place to play.

Truly a diamond in the rough, Love the quirkiness and old course feel. greens were fast, with crazy slopes and undulations.. first hole is straight with plenty of landing area, approach is downhill pitch to a big green. 2nd hole is a 208 yard par 4, my playing partner 5 putted the tortoise shell like green.. 3rd hole is a 170 yard par 3 surrounded by rock walls that were there before the course was built in 1904. course is par 34 for 9 holes, it does have a par 5 that can be reached in 2, but depending on pin placement, eagle and birdie would be tough.. downfalls of course : they only have 3 c…

Conditions have come a long way. They’ve done awesome here. Fast, true greens. Stone walls are actually a ton of fun. Enough length for the big hitters to still have a good time. Check it out they’ve done awesome here

We played Marion about five years ago (ca 2018) and thought that it was in very rough condition and also a little strange. We played today (Aug 2024) and found a completely different course; beautiful greens and fairways and a very interesting and challenging layout. What an incredible transformation. We love this place, and will be back soon.

I play this course at least once a year and love how it gets better each year. This place is a hidden gem with stone walls protecting the majority of the holes. They have a good pace of play so you’re never waiting around on the tee box for a slow group ahead.

What an absolute gem, especially if you're a golf architecture nerd like me. This was George Thomas' first design in 1904, before he went on to do classics like Riviera and LACC. It is loaded with quirk and charm, with stone walls running in front of greens and some cool blind approaches. And the greens are fantastic, roll so true. A truly delightful walk, and you can't beat 29 bucks for 18 holes!

Lil Marion golf course is a fun 9 hole course to play. Me and the crew always have a good time. Will and George are great guys too. Stop by and try your luck hitting over one of the few stone walls and landing on the green. Highly recommend. 👍🏻👍🏻
