In summary

Maxwelton Braes Golf Resort is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens and tee boxes, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice among both locals and visitors. The course layout is generally appreciated for its creativity and challenge, although some find it on the shorter side. While the resort is undergoing renovations, some guests have noted issues with cart quality, fairway conditions, and limited clubhouse amenities.

The course was well maintained, we were very impressed with the greens. This is our second time here to golf and we can see they are making changes and improvements to the building and course. I do wish the carts were a bit better and maybe that will come with time. We didn't have a windshield on our cart and our first cart wouldn't start. The day we played was cold and somewhat sprinkling so those things would make a big difference. Also, no beverages. Those things made the difference between us staying to play 18 holes vs leaving after 9. We'll come back later in the season to see how things…

Excellent service and will grow into a magnificent course once the renovation works complete. Greens and tee boxes were in great condition just now and well worth the money.

The course was right around the corner from where we were staying so it was a must. The cost was very fair for the course and location. It wasn’t a long course, but it was well kept. Very soft greens that weren’t your normal surface, more fuzzy, if that makes sense. I gave it 4 stars because the clubhouse had very limited selection for drinks adult or non-adult. It definitely needs renovation. That aside since you don’t spend much time there the course was beautiful and fun to play and I would definitely play again when in town.

Played on July 12, 2023 Rated everything 1-10 Proshop-8 Small and not much merch. Tee boxes-9 In really good shape Fairways-5 They need to me mowed a little shorter so you can distinguish the rough from the fairways more. Greens-7 Super soft and plush, a smidge slower that I am used to but super fair and playable. Pace-10 A lot of twosomes and a very good pace. Enjoyed the course and the day! It is a little on the short side, but plenty of trouble to get into! I bought the rounds on Group Golfer and it was well worth the price! Good course, highly recommend!

Excellent golf course! The course itself was well-maintained and the staff was friendly. The Mulligan Membership is the best golf deal that I have come across and I am thankful that the management made that move as it certainly helps local golfers like myself. There is a lot of history here, including hosting the 1948 LA Rams (who practiced on the 11th Fairway before their contest with Green Bay) and hosting the Wisconsin Open. I look forward to many more rounds here!

Greens and Tee boxes were in good/great shape. The fairway had zero grass, not just dry dead grass, more dirt than anything else. It was cheaper than other courses, but definitely would have preferred to spend a little extra at a nicer course.

We had a great time playing this course! Fairways and greens were in good condition, price was fair, the course wasn't too difficult, and the employees were very friendly! The clubhouse could use a little TLC, but that comes secondary. Would recommend!

Great course and great people! Jane went above and beyond to make sure my wedge was shipped back to me after leaving it at the course.

Maxwellton Braes is a diamond in the rough. It's a very nice public course. My only suggestion to the owners is that they might want to water and cut the fairway edges nicer. When we were last there, it was very dry.
