In summary

Montaup Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and beautiful views of the bay. The staff is noted for their friendliness, and the on-site restaurant and bar receive positive remarks for their food and drink offerings. While some visitors find the layout slightly unusual and express concerns about the pricing structure and tee time availability for non-members, the overall experience is highly regarded by golfers.

While visiting family in Rhode Island from Australia I was able to play Montaup twice. What a great course in amazing condition with spectacular views by the water. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Has an excellent 19th hole for drinks and bar food. Will be frequenting when I’m back in Rhode Island!

A bit of an odd layout squished between the bay and the highway. Conditions were good although many of the greens were already aerated. $105 a person is a lot for this course especially for aerated greens and no 9 hole rate for non-members. Also tee times are limited between 11-3 for non members during the week. If having to choose a place to play I'd pay $150 to Newport National over Montaup every day of the week.

New restaurant management provided excellent selection of freshly prepared seafood and grilled food. Enjoyed baked cod dinner, while others ate grilled house burger and sausage with peppers and onions. Definitely will be returning for so many other seafood and salad .options.

This place always has fast greens. It’s a test for any game with the challenging layout. But it’s a fun place to play at the same time. Beautiful scenery lay ahead on some of the holes in particular.

One of the best kept courses in RI/Southern MA, especially one that takes a public tee time. Pristine fairways, with excellent views of the bay. Definitely a course to have on the list.
