Northwood Golf Club

This is such a great and iconic course. Its so damn beautiful with all the red woods surrounding it. The staff in the club house and the restaurant where such great nice people. Only thing to worry about here is a ball bouncing off a tree and fly pass you. It was such a great time and very very peaceful. If you are an avid golfer this is a course for the books.

Quintessential Northern California golf! Play this course if you can. Fun and challenging but not insanely difficult. You have to experience the Northwood knock. We played on a sunny May Day and had a blast. No cart girl so load up some beverages at the restaurant before you tee off and have fun

Beautiful place to play golf! Nestled in a Redwood forest - the scenery and smells were great. Friendly crew in the clubhouse and efficient starter. We were surprised how busy it was on a Wednesday, but we moved along at a good pace. Reasonably priced and a good restaurant on the grounda.

Golf with your dog at the magical redwood forest. Yes, your balls will be bouncing off the trees! However, your dog will be happy!

Genuinely one of the best places to spend a day. Historical course in wonderful shape with great folks to welcome someone passing through. Would recommend to anyone!

Exceptional experience. Course was in first class condition for the month of November. Beautiful Redwood trees lining the course with the mist seeping through for my 9.30am tee time. Paired with a guy called Johnny who played the course every Friday. Good local knowledge and made the trip that bit more enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone playing golf in this region. Green fees were more than fair and club hire was ok too. Friendly staff. All round good experience! 5 stars

Played 5/8/25. Really enjoyed the 9 hole round. Played with two fine gentleman, Brian and Steve. Greens were near perfect, fairway very good. Tee boxes good enough. (A little lumpy, in need of a mow, and perhaps some top dressing). Rates are fair. Restaurant excellent. No nine hole club rental rate. A few clubs in dire need of new grips. Faces/grooves totally ignored. The ladies set that was handed to us was a mishmash of men’s and women’s clubs but after a few exchanges we got a reasonable set. Thanksgiving eve, the weather was perfect after a week of constant rain, so I drove up from San Francisco on a whim. No reservation. Green fee includes a course guide. Canned beers are available at the restaurant. Walked up with my pull cart and got paired up with a friendly two-some who just picked up golf in 2024. Teed off at 3pm and was just too dark to complete the 9th hole at 5:15pm. Really enjoyed walking the course here, but it is narrow. Only one hole where I hit driver, #9, and I hit it left OB, but found my ball and played my provisional with 2 stroke penalty. Hit my 5 wood once on…

Worth the drive from downtown San Francisco!! I was this course on Instagram and had to see it for myself. It definitely lived up to my expectations. It was an unreal experience playing amongst the redwoods. The course was in good shape though the greens were tough and the pin positions didn’t help. The guys in the clubhouse were very hospitable. I’d recommend this to anyone traveling to San Francisco.

Truly a little slice of paradise. Tee shots amongst towering redwoods, putts on greens that roll pure, and cold beers and great food to be had. Not to mention how wonderful everybody is - the players, the proshop, the locals. Took 2 years for me to get up here and I'll be back again much sooner than that!

Bucket list course! It’s nothing fancy, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. I made the drive from Sonoma for an early morning tee time and Northwood did not disappoint. My only critique of NWGC is that they should get some better rental clubs. The top flight rentals are soooo bad.

I came for the views while my husband golfed. This course was absolutely stunning. Being on the course amongst giant redwoods was an unreal experience. We got there early and caught the mist rising from the course. If you are a golfer in the area, this is course is a must.
