We stopped by during a bicycle trip on Root River Trail. We did not stay at the resort, but we did visit to the restaurant. This review is for the restaurant only. Five stars for both food and service. Everybody in my party ordered the Loaded Pork Sandwich with baked beans. It was the best pork sandwich and the best baked beans I have had in any restaurant anywhere. The pork was locally roasted and the beans contained both bacon and beef bits. I'll be coming back for more whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Very good sandwiches. This is a golf course, rooms not offered. Beautiful view. There is a nice campground on the Root River.

In addition to its serene location nestled in a peninsula along Root River, Old Barn Resort offers its guests access to an inimitable array of activities and amenities that is unparalleled among any other campground I've experienced. And besides the easy access to 60 miles of paved bike trails, a scenic 18-hole golf course surrounded by nature, an onsite delicious restaurant, and the ability to float down a river that wraps around and returns you back to the campground (super convenient), Old Barn Resort is staffed with the most caring individuals that offered me a customer service experience…

Truly our favorite place to camp. It’s right off of the bike trail so easy access to trails. You can float in the root river around the campsite. It’s about an hour and a half float which is so nice. The site is always clean. The barn has the best cheese curds. The food has never really disappointed us flavor wise! They have a covered pool area that our kids live in when it’s hot. Bathrooms are always kept up which is nice. Because of the proximity to the root river there are hardly ever mosquitoes like in other parts of the state.

We have tried, we have TRIED. This review is for the bar and restaurant only. Crap show. Horrible service. So bad. Horrendous. I'm sure their campground s great. But as a local...avoid the bar and restaurant. We've tried. Two years we've tried and it's the same horrible service. Paying attention, we now notice a common theme of workers, that's all I'm going to say about that. It's apparent the owner knows what I mean by saying it. Hiring brains and motivation might be a good start. Such a disappointment. We've loved this place for two decades. Last few years....not at all. Service is so bad.

Review for the restaurant: Had a great meal, the wraps are fantastic. Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap with the beer battered chicken was awesome. Service was great, quick and friendly

We had a great time at the Old Barn. Sites were a nice size. We enjoyed drinks at The Patio. The pool is inside but also kinda outside. Perfect if the weather is bad or if you have had enough sun. The showers take quarters.Tubing was so much fun! Definitely recommend the fried pickles and cheese curds!

Our entire experience here was wonderful. The campground is very well maintained with sites for everyone. The pool is a good size and sits inside a unique building. On warmer days they open the doors to let the fresh air in. Tons of activities at the campground and nearby towns. Shower house/bathrooms are always pretty chilly, but manageable. Fantastic food at the restaurant, too. We did not golf but the course looked decent.

One of our top 5 places to RV. Great campsites and clean location. Scrumptious restaurant and bar. Today I requested a ladder to help in installing a SIM card on the roof of my RV. My request was handled immediately. Eric delivered the ladder to my RV and held the ladder while I switched out my cards! Eric was friendly and happy to assist. OBR has “old school” customer service values!!!

This place is so much better since the current owners bought it 10 years ago. Easy booking, quick check in, great staff, and attentive problem solving skills within management. From a delicious restaurant, to a well-kept golf course, and overall convenient location this place is the perfect outdoor getaway. We will be back!

Nice campground! Clean bathrooms, nice pool too! The bartender at the restaurant Thursday night made a GREAT long island. Our spot was a bit too sunny for our liking and the sites aren't very private BUT with the bike trail right there and a pool and a river to fish and float in that didnt matter much. Great family campground.
