In summary

Olde Point Golf Course receives praise for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and affordable pricing, with some visitors appreciating the well-maintained fairways and greens. However, there are significant criticisms regarding the course's overall condition, with reports of unkempt greens, poor tee boxes, and inconsistent maintenance. Additionally, some guests have experienced issues with staff interactions and golf cart functionality, suggesting room for improvement in customer service and facility upkeep.

Was looking forward to playing golf on a group trip. Greens were uncut, tee boxes were in bad shape, and workers were not the friendliest. The price is cheap for a reason. The food is very delicious. In the back nine, a person a part of our group threw a club high in the air- granted this should not have been done. The ranger greeted our group (in front of us) cussing them out. We felt being kicked off the course was reasonable; however cussing out minors was not necessary. Upon driving back to the club house, we were greeted again, and cussed out by the man running the desk. Once again, kicki…

JUST GO TO IRONCLAD 3 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD! This course is always very poor condition but the owner always seems to have a new excuse each time someone calls them out, lay out is great but the course is poorly managed and you will be dodging geese and goose poop the entire time. Some of the worst greens I have seen on top of the obvious inflated ego of the people working here... just look at the responses to truthful negative reviews. Just a bunch of cheapskates who think they are Cape Fear Country Club. Poor staff from the rude ladies who work the pro shop to the childish owner who doesn't t…

My neighbor and I played today and it was a real treat. Pace of play was fine, greens were in great shape, fairways were nice and green, the staff were friendly. The weather was perfect, lots of slope, some very challenging holes, fun par 3's, carts worked just fine and yes they do shut off if you go out of bounds, which is understandable. You also can't ride the fairways on par 3's so maybe that confuses some golfers. Most importantly, it was very affordable and my buddy got a nice discount as a senior citizen and vet. Our new favorite course in the area. A+++ we will be back!

Always had good food there. Today we were seated in next room and main dining was not full but hostess lead us there. Other people were getting waited on but we waited over 15 minutes with no service. Finally brought our menu back to hostess and said we waited long enough with no service. Rather than say I’m sorry let me see if I can help you she just took them and smiled. Very disappointed in our experience.

Played golf here on our recent trip to Topsail Island. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and everyone was kind and courteous. I really enjoyed the golf course! Some really great holes and found it in a lot better shape than some of the recent reviews. Stopped into the bar for a post round beer… bartender and patrons were fantastic. Give this place a shot when visiting the Island. I’ll definitely be revisiting again next year.

Used to love this course but it’s in such bad shape I’ll never be back. 1. The golf carts are going to get someone killed. They stall every time you hit the gas and you have to cross the road multiple times. Had to switch carts after 10. 2. Tee boxes were a cow pastures. 3. The greens look like the fairways. Sand and divots everywhere. 4. The fairways are rock solid and they’re mostly sand. 5. I’ve attached a photo of how the owner responds to frustrated customers. He’s a prick. I love supporting local businesses but after seeing the way he deals with customers, I hope someone else buys this p…

Pros: The restaurant and bar were very impressive. The food was reasonably priced, high quality, and was a great serving size for the price. Pro-shop staff was friendly and courteous. Helped to explain the course and what to expect. The locations of the driving range and cart pickup were conveniently located. Cons: The course was in desperate need of attention. The tee boxes were overgrown to the point that sometimes it was hard to even see the markers. (Pictures attached). The greens were also in rough shape some had complete bald spots that were almost completely mud. Both issues in my opin…

Very nice layout. Challenging course but not too difficult for an average golfer. Course was in decent shape but greens were a little wooly. Greens fees are very reasonable. Restaurant has a good menu and great service. I would definitely play here again.

Worst course I've ever played. Tee boxes are just dirt, and all of the tees are bunched together (see picture). Doesn't matter which of the five tees you want to play, distance is the same. Greens are like shag carpet - hit the ball as hard as you want, you'll leave it short. The bunkers are like concrete, and all the rakes I saw were broken. Also, they don't enforce the dress code - there are guys out there in cutoff sweat pants, jeans, and ratty t-shirts. The layout might be ok, but it seems they don't care at all about conditioning.

I just got done playing this course, as we walked in everything was great. Staff were nice. Got our carts and everything was good so far. Got to the first tee box a little disappointed but it was no big deal. Very patchy etc. Got to putting on the green and it was all downhill from there. These greens were pathetic. I’ve seen some other reviews saying the same thing and the “owners” excuse was that a hurricane had just come through. The weather had been great for months and this course looks horrendous. The owner said you shouldn’t throw stones without fact checking but that is the dumbest sta…

Played today, Fairways and greens were in good shape. Course layout was a pleasure to see and play. Staff was very helpful making sure getting started as this was my first visit (but not my last). There was no problem or charge for my wife who does not play to ride along. All in all a pleasant experience.

Great staff, great club, great people. Best all around course in topsail area hands down. Has golf, pool, bar, restaurant, events, etc… Happy to call this place a local hang out joint.
