In summary

Pembroke Country Club is appreciated for its enjoyable and challenging layout, with some visitors noting that the course is generally in good condition, particularly the fairways and tee boxes. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding the "cart path only" policy, which some find inconvenient, and concerns about the deteriorating state of the greens and facilities. While the staff is often described as friendly, the overall experience is mixed due to the perceived high costs and maintenance issues.

Do not listen to the past reviews, I got the scoop. 2 years ago, the course was subject to a heavy drought - grass got burned, conditions were bad, and everything became cart path only. They were trucking in water. I played on a 93 degree thursday. The course was exquisite. The layout is enjoyable and scenic. The greens were in pristine condition, as were all fairways, and all tee boxes. The course is challenging, but fair, presenting fun risk/reward decisions and packing a solid yardage punch. My only complaint is that the course has remained cart path only since the drought. While I under…

The golf course was very nice and in great condition. Played fast except for a twosome that jumped in front of us on 10 . Nice greens and pretty fast. Clubhouse bar has potential, but is kinda dead.

It's a shame what this once sought after course has become over the last 20 years. The driveway is in shambles, the buildings are falling apart, it's just depressing all around. The incessant reminders from the staff and signs everywhere for "Cart Path Only" is exhausting, almost infuriating. Every golf course in the world allows golf carts, I don't why there's a buy-in that it's normal to be "Cart Path Only" for all 18 holes at Pembroke. I specifically called to make sure carts were available in the morning, they conveniently failed to mention "Cart Path Only" then. It's all so.....odd. To t…

I’ll start it by saying charging 90 dollars to walk is absolutely insane. Also to charge 90 dollars for this course in general is laughable. The greens aren’t even in prime condition, there are divots and beaver marks all over the place. The only good thing about it was the starter Ned. I got the “it’s Saturday that’s why it’s 90”, It’s actually a Monday. Anyway I’ll never play this overrated course again.

This course has a ton of potential, but ownership doesn’t seem to really care about course conditions. You’d think for them charging almost $100 for 18 holes and a cart (always cart path only), you’d get a better course. The greens are typically in disarray and have either bare patches with no grass or have large rotten sections. All of the buildings onsite, are falling apart. There’s a few shacks on the course that have broken windows, holes in the roof. One of the many courses that uses ForeUp to handle their online bookings, but it seems they aren’t on the same page. On PCCs website, it…

Nice course. Fast greens, a bit challenging, but not overly so (as a high handicapper). Some pretty rough areas, even (or especially) on some parts of the fairway with the drought, but still a decent looking course. Can't beat the 30 dollar all you can play in the evenings.

First time playing here... Course is in great condition and holes were well designed and just the right challenge. Fast greens with interesting texture. Only lost balls that deserved it.

You know those signs on the highway advertising something incredibly exciting, but then you go and it’s your basic tourist trap? Welcome to the Pembroke Country Club! I’ve played here 5-6 times over the course of the past year and it’s only gotten worse. Where to start? - the fairways are wrecked. Patches of dirt plus a heap of chemical burns on certain holes - greens are atrocious. Every color green imaginable due to the lack of proper care. - $70 for a round with cart when it should be closer to $45 and that’s generous. All in all, it feels like a muni that time forgot. Either sell the pla…

Came in May of 2023 for a Wednesday 10:30am tee time. James and I ended up sandwiched between two retiree-aged groups, so we took our time playing. The fairways and tee boxes were great- well maintained and wide as they come, however the greens were in miserable shape- it appeared to be some synthetic surface which made it like putting on concrete and divots everywhere. I did like the overall design and layout, with a reasonable number of hazards and relatively long holes (definitely get a cart). Overall, reasonable price for what you get.

Should have read more reviews before booking tee times for our group. We were paired with a loaner (stranger) who was walking the course even though the rest our group was taking carts. As if the awkwardness wasn’t enough, the course Marshall stopped our group three times to tell us we needed to pick up the pace—the last time threatening to take our carts away and cussing us out. We were at 1:45 for the first 9 and played all 18 in 4hrs so the anger was not only shocking but completely unacceptable. You don’t pay to golf to be treated this way. We asked to talk with the owner after we finished…

Zero stars. Cart paths only- what a joke! This course is always cart paths only! I can't remember when it wasn't cart paths only. A ranger approached me on the second hole to remind me that it was cart paths only- the fairway was so rocky that I thought I was on the cart path. If you didn't have a bad back when you arrived, you will when you leave. The cart paths are full of holes and are a disgrace. Each year I think to myself that the course couldn't possibly be worse than last year and each year the course is in fact worse. The greens remind me of camouflage- all different colors, contours…

Great course. Greens and tees were in good shape. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is also a long course so consider that if deciding about a cart or whether to play 9 or 18.
