If you’re golfing here you’ll just have to hope and pray Crystal isn’t working at the pro shop that day. One of the most bizarre and rude customer experiences I’ve ever had. She cancelled our tee time despite us being at the course and in line to check in 10 minutes before our scheduled tee time (the tee times here also always run 15-20 minutes behind here so really we were like 30 minutes ahead of time). I was charged $25 deposit plus $50 cancellation fee so $75 and we weren’t even allowed to golf. When we asked for at least a refund she started yelling and gaslighting us and pulled the win…

We wrongfully had our reservation cancelled and were charged a cancellation fee despite arriving 5 minutes before our scheduled tee time. I’ve played this course dozens of times and have never had a problem. My group of 5 was present and ready to play, but the pro shop attendant, Crystal, berated us, gaslit us by claiming we weren’t waiting in line, and eventually slammed the window in our faces while we were trying to speak. This occurred while the course was already running 10+ minutes behind schedule. This customer service was disappointing, and extremely unprofessional and rude.

Dog friendly. Good happy hour. Outdoors. Food, drinks, atmosphere. Not too many golfers. ‘Nuf sed.

This is a fun muni with great vibes an energy. I played as a single and got paired up with a fun group mostly younger crowd. It’s a walking course and I understand it can be slow sometimes but we finished our round in about 2 hours which was great. I’d recommend for anyone trying to sneak in a quick, fun 9.

Lovely course. The sea breeze makes even the hottest, muggiest day bearable. The course is well maintained and the club house is great as well. This is the course where Harrison Ford performed his infamous emergency landing on when his private plane had engine troubles. So when you go play Penmar, you should dedicate the 7th hole to Mr. Ford 😄.

Ate at the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. They should definitely work on their service. The servers we had contact with seemed very inconvenienced by us in general. We sat down at a table outside as its seat yourself and the busser came over and told us we had to get up for him to clean the table. There were some water cups and glasses left so we tried to move them and he told us no and to stand up, so we got up and he wouldn’t let us sit back down until he had taken the glasses back and then returned and wiped down the table. He was very rude about it, flinging his rag all over the place…

I have enjoyed going to penmar many times - especially on Fridays when they have live music, however, my experience with one of the owners Mark Chesler has left me feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. Because of that, and after seeing the way he attacks people online, I won’t be returning or recommending it

Perfect 9-hole course in the middle of Venice. Reasonably priced for LA. Friendly, helpful staff. The bar and restaurant are fun in and of themselves. Jumbotron for watching the game and solid happy hour offerings.

This is a 9 hole Golf course ! It's a great lay out ! It's fun playing with the locals ! This isn't any Golf carts here , so bring your golf push cart 🛒 They do rent them if you don't have one ! Have fun & enjoy this amazing gem 💎

A great little find! Played there for the 1st time, and what a pleasant surprise. A nice 9 hole executive course in Venice. Not overly long, but interesting enough. The greens are in nice shape and roll nicely. Very relaxed atmosphere, but play seems to move along nicely. I will be back!

Penmar is a great 9 hole course, located on the Westside of LA, as it boarders the City of Santa Monica... It's a relatively easy course, as it is fairly flat, with a few small rolling hills... It's a great course to work on your Driving, and your Short game. The Fairways are very forgiving, but it will allow you to open up... This is a walking course and only pull charts are allowed. This is a City course, that is open to the public; so the prices are very reasonable...
