In summary

Phalen Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens and overall good condition, offering a fun and challenging layout with a convenient city location. The staff is noted for being friendly and helpful, and the course provides good value for the price. However, some visitors have experienced slow pace of play, particularly on weekends, and others have mentioned limited food options and outdated amenities like old carts and run-down bunkers.

Course was in great shape even after a lot of rain. Great value for a well taken care of 18 hole course right in the city. Driving range is a little run down but gets the job done. Plenty of parking. The practice green was in perfect condition. Solid beer selection and nice sitting area.

Do not play this course during any weekend or holiday unless you have 5+ hours to spend out there. Played a 2.5 hour front nine and tried to get a rain check for the back since we didn’t have time for a 5+ hour round. Was basically told “what do you expect” by the guy in the pro shop. What I expect is a decent pace of play on a par 70 course and some decent customer service to the customer that are supporting this place. Can’t say I’ll be back after this experience. Again, all we were asking was a simple 9 hole range check.

I recently moved back to St. Paul after 30 years living in Omaha. One of the courses I grew up on and it's in the best shape ever. The greens are spectacular. The layout has matured just great fun. Better golfers should play the tips

Not sure about some of these poor reviews… the golf course was very fun to play In my opinion, was a little busy but worth it for the price. Will for sure be coming back!

Solid city course in pretty decent shape. Not the longest course and if you're a really good golfer it might be too easy for you. I'm just decent myself and shot 81 for 18. Everyone working there was really nice and helpful and the pace of play was very good for a city course. Played the twilight rate and played 18 in about 3 hours 45 minutes on a Saturday evening. Lot less crowded than Como. Kind of peaceful actually. I would definitely recommend.

Fun Golf Course! Challenging Greens is a plus. The course is in good shape. Old carts, no hole maps on the tee boxes. Great location. A Driving Range. 1 year Seltzerland was here and was amazing!

Course is in great shape for a city course. greens roll nice. But… they don’t ever have food available at the turn(or before or after apparently) I used to call in breakfast sandwiches before I got there and they were GREAT! Last year I was playing 36, tried to call in a cheeseburger on 8, was told it was impossible. Today at the turn, no hot dogs, out of stuff for sandwiches…. Golf courses are plenty busy. Don’t cry about not making money if you’re not even trying.
