In summary

Plainfield West Nine Golf Course is often praised for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and affordable rates, making it a popular choice for golfers of all levels. The course offers a variety of holes that provide a good challenge, especially for beginners and those looking to practice their short game. However, some visitors have noted issues with the fairways being poorly maintained and the course layout being somewhat confusing, which can lead to a slower pace of play.

Greens are immaculate!. Fairways and bunkers aren’t the best, and course layout a bit weird.. id play here again knowing the layout now. I knew to keep driver in the bag for everything except first 2 holes (even those not necessary). When I play here again I may change my rating😂. Course was BACKED UP!. I had no time for 18 so only got in 9.. Starter was a cool guy.. and guy in the clubhouse was also a cool guy. Two young ladies in front of us who apparently were the granddaughters of the owner or something of the nature, STRIPING THEM DOWN FAIRWAYS. My group couldn’t keep up (not because of m…

This course offers very affordable rates, seems to always have open tee times, and can't beat hot deals (Golf Now). The course is surprisingly well groomed because of its big brother country club across the street (Plainfield East). Though it plays on the shorter side and a little rough around the edges in certain spots, has 3 short Par 4s (1 being driveable at ~235 yards),and is a par 66 (if playing 18), it offers decent variety and challenge. Very low-key vibes, nice layout/design, friendly and chill staff, and good for medium to high handicappers like myself to work on their games without f…

June 2024 update: It's nice and proper now with some hard greens. Fairways are super and fun overall course to play! ......... A bit gnarly but good course. The grass was sparse (in Dec) and a thin layer of sand is visible on the Greens. Offers a bit of everything, but not that hard of a course layout. Friendly people at the pro shop and found it easy to play alone as a walk in past noon. They offer golf carts, but the push cart is still sufficient. Will definitely be back when in mood for a quick 9.

Great place for an informal short 9. definitely worth a trip to work on irons and wedges if you’re close. The cost and layout attracts a lot of new players so weekends can be a bit risky. With the amount of errant shots and lack of trees you must keep your eyes peeled for errant shots at all times. I only play here when I have kids or beginners in the group.

Greens are very nice, teeboxes are nice. And thats the whole course. The fairways are basically clay and grass as god left them there. Very tight course. To play 18 is a debacle to re-tee on 1. If you want to play 9 on a sunday before football tho, hard to beat locally. Just keep in mind if you want to take a fairway divot, sharpen your irons lol

Been going to this course with my friends for years, Pro Shop is great, and the course conditions are almost always perfect, and it's overall a fun experience

Paid $25 to play here but then they added an absurd $35 cart fee. The fairways were non existent. The rough and the fairway had the same levels of grass. You could lose your ball even hitting it into the fairway or fringe. I couldn’t not tell the difference. The course is pretty much a dirt course. The worst course I’ve ever seen. BUT the greens were quite nice. I’d say a 2 star is being nice.

Poorly maintained golf course. Mooncraters all along this very compact nine-hole course. Fairways on some holes criss-cross each other 🤯 Play at your own peril.

Make a long day longer they send out singles and doubles without combining anyone. Wait on every hole.

As the sister 9 hole course of Plainfield Country Club, the greens are amazing. More on the smallish size, but nice greens. However, many of the tee boxes need to be leveled and most of the bunkers need to be sifted to remove the rocks and new sand added. Irrigation would really make this course a great course so bare areas could grow in and give everyone more consistent lies to hit from. It’s a great course for beginners as there is very little trouble plus the staff is great!

Great 9-hole course. Was pretty crowded so it must be popular. Very fair pricing and really the course was nice and well kept. Considering we had some extremely poor weather the day before the course appeared in good shape. Staff were very friendly and as a new player they were very accommodating. Can't wait to go back.
