In summary

Port Hope Golf & Country Club is highly praised for its stunning lakeside setting, well-maintained course conditions, and challenging layout that requires strategic play. The staff is frequently noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a positive overall experience. While the course offers beautiful views and unique features like a bridge over train tracks, some visitors mention issues such as hard greens, overbooked tee times leading to slow play, and occasional maintenance concerns with bunkers.

Absolutely amazing course. It isnt how long you drive the ball...its course management and where you take your second shot from. Im a 12 handicap and shot from the white tee boxes shot an 87...and was stoked! Fairways and greens are mint. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Met some members and they explained some of the layout. Just an overall epic experience.

Port Hope lived up to it's billing. Course conditions were very good, course layout was fun and challenging. Certainly makes you want to come back to see if you can improve on your scorecard. The views on the lakeside cliffs are beautiful. I was even able to hear the waves lapping on the shore. "Pebble Beach of the north" is pretty lofty, however there were some holes that made you think of Monterrey. It's a bit of a drive from Toronto, but it's definitely worth it, especially considering the green fee! Exceptional value!

My top 3 favorite courses this year. Its an hour drive from me but definitely worth it. Friendly staff, fun layout, challenging for all skill levels, and AMAZING LOCATION AND SCENERY. We paid around $100, a little pricey for similar course length and conditions, but worth it if you're the type to appreciate the beautiful sight lines and and varying scenery. Definitely check it out, its a must try at least once if you dont mind driving 1-2 hrs depending on traffic

Nice course with a great view of Lake Ontario and a large scenic bridge you’ll need to cross twice during your round. The fairways are nice and well laid out. The greens are fast and challenging, especially 12 and 15. Get ready to 3 putt if you’re lucky enough to stay on the green. They have nasty slopes.

The lake view is stunning, and driving over the bridge provides a unique perspective of the golf course. However, the area is quite sandy, but there are no other options by the lake and trains pass by frequently.

Stunning golf course right on the edge of lake Ontario. Always in fantastic condition. Staff is extremely friendly. Only complaint are the bunkers. Stones everywhere. I remove my ball from them so I don't damage my clubs. Other than that I love it there.

DO NOT PASS ON THE CHANCE OF PLAYING THIS COURSE!!!! Not one thing to complain about this golf course! The views are incredible, the course layout is fantastic (especially after the remodel), fairways are well maintained, tee boxes are in excellent shape and the greens are in great shape as well (although they may be very quick and slick) Not the longest course out there, but the layout and shape of the course definitely makes you play smarter golf, and you will for sure be using every club in the bag! Was nominated for one of the best remodels in 2021! I really don't know how they didn't w…

We have our first membership and we definitely picked the right course! This place is gorgeous with lake views on most holes a bridge going over the train tracks is a fantastic experience! The management has went above and beyond I highly recommend this course

Two negative comments to start: the new greens are as unforgiving as you’ll ever find. If the greens crew can get them to soften up to receive a ball, they’ll be laughing. Secondly, we didn’t see the beverage cart until the back nine. With no clubhouse access during your round, it’s a long time to go without refreshments. The positives: I would say it would be hard pressed to find a golf course with better views of Lake Ontario and the shoreline anywhere along the north or south shores. Set stop the cliffs, the course offers great visibility east and west throughout the round. We were lucky to…

Just finished a round here and I am SOO glad I decided to come here while I had some time to spare in town. Probably the most fun I have had on a course in quite some time. I have played virtually every decent to great course in the Kawarthas and Durham and IMO, this is up there as far as scenery and interesting/challenging greens. One of the friendly employees described it as the Pebble Beach of the North and perhaps that is a slight stretch but I see the resemblance. Many of the holes run along or towards lake Ontario and there are many greens that have that infinity pool type feel as they a…

Really gorgeous course. Well maintained and the views are amazing. Cart girl was also really friendly. And even saw some wild turkeys on our way in!
