In summary

Rio Hondo Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, enjoyable course layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers of all levels. The club offers a picturesque setting with tree-lined fairways and ample amenities, including a two-story driving range. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play, particularly during peak times, which can lead to longer rounds.

A solid course overall, the pace of play was great and the holes were all pretty fun. This review is from an amateur level golfer. The carts were cool, wish it had a cooler but they were clean and did the job. The greens were well kept and the course was pretty balanced. Great to have a cart vendor on the course and the driving range is also pretty with two stories. I highly recommend this course, but it is a bit pricey but I’d say worth the price. I’d definitely come back here again to play a round!

Beautiful course. Quite long from blue tee box. Fairway layout is fun and not quite narrow. Greens are huge with adequate speed. The only issue is there were too many people during the Friday afternoon. Other than that, I recommend this course.

One of my favorite public courses. Greens always run good. Fairways in good shape. Staff does a great job with tee times, the customer service provided is the best I've encountered in any course. Highly recommend this place

Love this place range and course. I even got my mom into golf here. My dad brings me here and the staff is nice to me... They all say what's up.... My coach Rob is a real good teacher... I am definitely getting better and better... But still need to master putting.

Great, well maintained course, will be going back again. Good combination of Par 3, 4. & 5 holes. Greens are fast and each offer a challenge depending on pin placement for the day. Cost me $85 green fee / half cart on Saturday.

Use to be a great track. Still love the Rock Waterfall. The issue over the weekend was - The Greens, Muddy Tee Boxes and Fairways. I took a 2 hr drive to come enjoy the course I have loved so much in the past that it was a big let down. The greens were so bumpy and hairy that I thought I was at an executive course in the Desert during the summer. YES - Ridiculous. Too bad cause this was on our list for a possible club to join

This course has a wonderful layout and play for the area and current drought conditions. However, this is a very crowded course. Most groups that are not already matched up, may be matched to make a 5-some. The pace of play is very slow and at times, too slow. Beware of the long waits and an audience at almost every tee shot. Practice greens were rather fast paced, yet was a bit rough out on the course. Fairways were decent with opportunities to play out from adjacent fairways. Staff is a bit surly, but once on the course it's a great time. The driving range is a double decker with not too man…

Well kept course. It's flat but has trees, doglegs, and lakes to give you a challenge.

Nice interesting golf course. Not overly long. Typically the greens are in good shape.

Just challenging enough. Trees line many of the fairways, but not too packed and the fairways are all reasonably wide. Good little challenge. Today the greens were rough, but they recently aerated, so you know how that goes. Tee boxes are reasonably today and typically aren't too chewed up. Nice scenery. Two layer range (irons only on top) with good targets. Mats are all reasonably new. The use thing edge ones, so they can replace easily. Prices are reasonable for what you get, too. Go try it out.
