What People Say

In summary

Montebello Country Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and accommodating staff, offering a good value for golfers seeking a solid course experience. The club features a spacious country club area with food and drink options, and the pace of play is generally favorable. However, some visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as hard bunkers and worn-out tee boxes, and have expressed concerns about pricing and limited amenities like outdated carts and closed concessions.

Lush fairways. Good layouts. Excellent greens. Green speed is around 8 or 9 when played here today after two days of rains. A really good bargain for those who want to escape afternoon parking lot traffic in summer.

This is a solid course overall and I had a great experience. Im a beginner to intermediate level player and It’s a challenging 18. There are a lot of times where you’ll cross paths with certain holes because it’s pretty narrow. The carts are well kept, wish they had a cooler and gps(first world requests). I’d definitely come back to try it again. The country club area with food and drinks is pretty big but a great area to chill after finish a round. Great that there is a hotel on site and a bunch or of restaurants across the street.

I come here often (pics are from other days played) and was having a great day and decent game of golf Friday. However after the 5th hole (back 9) the gate to the 6th hole was closed and locked without explanation. There was about an hour of daylight left and we weren’t allowed to complete our game which would have taken about 30min. It was disappointing.

Good layout. Not a horribly kept course but definitely not pristine (don’t let the country club in the name fool you), But it reflects on the price fortunately and they aren’t up in the night charging high rack rates. If your just looking to get out and swing the clubs and save some money, this place is not horrible.

The course is well manicures, today the bunkers were packed to solid not resembling "sand" in anyway. But the play was quick, well kept greens, great scenery, the carts were washed and serviced, and ready to go. The coffee and the cafe were on point. Great service, awesome round.

Not a good managed course. Twilight start at 12:00 Noon. If you play twilight rate, it is not the bad course to play.

I used to come here back in the day when I was at 18 now that there's Topgolf makes it cool and everything but now it's a 94. I like the layout it's fun it's a solid 2 hours and 15 minutes round just to get it in real quick it's cool but it's definitely not worth 45 to almost 50 bucks for nine holes.

This was my second visit playing at this course and certainly not my last and had a good time here again. The people that work there are very accommodating and the course is in great shape too. We were able to finish the round in about four hours. Not bad considering some of the courses in the LA takes at least five hours to finish. Looking forward in coming back for another round.

Played here in April of 2019. Tee boxes and fairways in good condition. Greens were lovely and soft, but extremely slow. We left strokes out there trying to adjust to the slow speed. Sand traps were awful, full of hard dirt and small rocks. Very little sand to be seen. Length of course is good for the average golfer. The coffee shop is excellent. $45 with a cart is about right for green fees. Will play again for sure
