River Bend Golf Club is one of the best local courses around—flat out. The layout is fun, challenging, and really well thought out. You don’t have to be a scratch golfer to enjoy it, but if you can hit the ball, this place rewards good shots and makes you think your way through every hole. The course is kept in great shape, especially considering how busy it gets, and the greens roll true. The staff is fantastic—friendly, relaxed, and they treat you like someone they actually want to see walk through the door. No attitude, no pretense, just people who enjoy running a good course and taking ca…

Love the course. Tough to play when it is really busy because it can take you more than four hours. We couldn’t get a cart last time but it’s challenging and good if you’re getting back out there for the first time in a bit. Give them a try.

Good course to brush up on 9 holes. It’s a bit rough condition in my opinion but close to home and easy to get a tee time

Great, walkable 9 hole course, you'll want a hand cart, because you need your full set, and you need to know how to use it. Course is wonderful for a golfer who knows their game, but if you are true beginner, try to avoid a busy weekend tee time, and go out when the course is "quiet". You'll enjoy it, and I doubt you'll be "pushed." Photo shows a course view 1st weekend in April, '19. Our experience was with one of the friendliest course staffs that you'll ever met! If others experienced concerns, the course team has listened!

Great 9 Hole for the area, always had a pleasure checking in and never been disrespected and I play here a LOT. Not sure how so many reviews on here talk about the ranger and staff. Hell I wish the ranger would push people because it does get slow if you're not one of the earlier tee times. If this is taking you 3 hours to finish a round you ARE playing slow! Looking forward to playing here this year!

Absolutely brutal and frustrating when it's busy. The course is right by me, so I played there several times and each time it was a 3+ hour round with rangers doing absolutely nothing. Most recently, it was ~3.5 hours and they packed so many people onto the course that they actually ran out of golf carts. If it's not busy, decent layout and condition is ok.

The course is challenging and fun. Greens are.... Fine. Definitely over priced for a 9 hole course. Definitely over booked all summer. Easy to have a 3 hour round here. editing to change to 1 star. I have not had 3 rounds all on pave for about 3 hours. every time we got to the tee box there was already another group waiting to tee off. after 2 hours of play on July 10th I left with 3 holes still to play and alerted the ranger who wasn't even on the course. this place is way too expensive to be waiting and waiting to play golf.

I love everything about this golf course! Thank you for being a great 9-hole course to play! We appreciate Mike's warm welcome each time we play. Booking Tee Times are pretty easy, the "regular" golfers are nice and the course is JUST enough of a challenge to keep you coming back for more! Hole 7 will NOT defeat or discourage me. 😂

For only 9 holes, might as well sign up for a 4-5 hour engagement. Slowest 9 holes in Illinois, they’ll always pair you with a random tee

I’ve previously enjoyed this course. It is a beautiful course. Today was a different story. We were being hit up on, our cart broke down mid game, and the people in front of us were playing extremely slow while not allowing us to play through them. They would take 5-10 minutes to step up to the tee with nobody in front of them. Whenever we would finish putting they would finally decide to tee up and hit before we could go up and ask them to play through. This left us waiting for them to finish hole every time without being able to simply move ahead. Overall it's a good place to golf. Just left…

Yeah I just hope the 5some in front of us sees thus. You made a 9 hole turn into 3 hours and we couldn’t even finish because you guys were driving 30 yards ahead only, taking two shots each, and taking your sweet time on the green. I’m not even sure how you guys got 5 in a group but especially this late was very disrespectful. The staff was very nice as they are per usual to me and my group of friends that play there regularly. Not trying to bash the employees at all but this is mainly for that 5some that made us end the round we paid for early bc of their lack of respect

WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS Worst experience golfing we’ve had. Our tee time was the last one of the day because we are still slightly beginners but moving pretty quickly. The foursome in front of us was 1/2 driving a cart 1/2 walking and we didn’t get to start until 15 minutes after our tee time. After that it just kept getting worse. Ranger kept driving around just staring at us saying nothing at all, we told him we kept having to wait on the group ahead of us and asked if he could say something and he drove right past them. We continually had to wait at least 8 minutes on each hole sometimes…
