In summary

River Pines Golf Club is generally appreciated for its well-maintained course conditions, interesting layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for many golfers. The course offers a variety of challenges that require strategic play, and the complimentary range balls are a nice touch. However, some visitors have reported issues with slow pace of play, inconsistent greens, and concerns about staff professionalism, particularly with marshals and rangers. Additionally, there are mixed opinions about the value for money, with some feeling the course is overpriced given certain conditions.

Let me start by saying this course isn’t going to blow you away with stunning vistas or super unique holes. But what you do get is a great value for the EXCELLENT condition they keep the course in year round (save tee boxes some times of year). This course will make you use every club in your bag, you can’t just bomb driver every hole. Now what really sets this course is the staff and the people. The staff are always super pleasant and polite, just the standard of professional. This attracts a great group of members and guests who, as a guy who goes by myself a lot and gets paired up is such a…

Good experience overall - tee boxes are in good shape, fairways generally very good and the bent-grass greens are surviving the summer. We finished in 4 hours on the dot - not bad for an 8:50 Sunday morning round. It’s been a while since I’ve played here and I would say in general they’ve done a great job of keeping the course in good shape. It’s an interesting layout with lots of trouble if you’re not playing well.

Really enjoyable round today. Pace of play was solid (4 hrs), tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens in really good shape (1 green had some weird sand spots). Greens were especially fast. Impressive for a public course. Complimentary range balls was a great touch. Loved all of the signage around the course. Really helped. Highly recommend using a GPS app. Staff was very friendly as well. Hope to be back soon! I felt that it was worth the $85 price tag for a Saturday morning round. As for the course, I felt that I got a lot of variety in the holes... Not many forced driver holes. Only a…

Want to say this up front THIS IS FOR ONLY THE PAR 3 as I didn't have time to play the full course. Great little par 3 except for the greens. Layout was great and offered a fair variety of distances and challenges for a new golfer. The staff was fantastic and I talked to one of their members in the parking lot and they were Fantastic as well. Really the only complaint I have is the greens were shit. They were super weed infested and not in good condition. I know a part of that is a good number are in the shade but it still needs work

This used to be a really nice course. Now it's overplayed. The tee boxes are dirt No rangers keeping up pace of play. They changed to the covid 10 minute tee times instead just increasing prices.Even the score card shows 14 minute pace of play....to bad was a nice course...now you just sit and wait to tee off on old carts and have the crew behind you hitting into you....wasn't a fun time and it's certainly not cheap...

First off, the staff in the Marshall are rude. No matter how fast you play, the Marshall will come and tell you to go faster even when it’s not your fault. Marshall will sit and stalk your shots. Second, Greens are in rough shape. I have played here several times. Third, One time we played here and it was completely covered in sand. The course did not tell us beforehand or give a discounted rate. The greens were unplayable and created a Saturn ring around your ball. It was a dirty move by the course for them not to tell us about this Fourth, This course is severely overpriced on weekends. I…

I’ve played the par 3 course numerous times. It’s usually $15ish, but recently, it’s in horrific shape. We were still charged around that same price, for the course to have completely dead greens that were rutty and unplayable, and forced to tee off mats, not even the grass. That’s unprofessional and greedy to charge the same price for a course basically under maintenance. Do better.

Played as a single teeing off at 4:20 on a Monday. Was told by the pro shop the course was not busy at all and by the starter that it was “pretty open” in front of me. Front 9 took over 2 hours. Lots of walkers and kids playing. Paid $50 for the twilight rate. Would not pay more to play here. Greens were full of pitch marks. Course was wet but did have a lot of rain recently. I would not play again due to the cost compared to the conditions and the pace of play. It is a neat course with a challenging layout. Has potential.

This place will allow you to book an afternoon fall tee time, pay full price, and later will tell you on the first tee "yeah you won't be able to finish a full round today". Pace of play was bad, the group in front of us turned into a fivesome at some point on the back 9. Instead of the ranger coming out to deal with it earlier in the round, they come out as the sun is going down to kick you off the course. Only got to play 15 holes or so, won't be coming back.

Very poor experience at this extremely expensive course. My partner and I arrive to the tee box at 12:29 for a 12:30 tee time. Starter is yelling “HE NEEDS TO SWING” at 12:32 with a one person “group” behind us. Threw off the entire first 3-4 holes and we ended up waiting 5-10 minutes per hole with a group of 4 in front of us regardless. Won’t be going back.

Just played here after not playing here for a few years. First off, the way the rangers treated us as a paying customer was AWFUL. We showed up to the first tee box on time, had to wait to hit due to golfers being ahead of us, and we have the range officer behind us yelling “you need to go!” On the very first tee box. Then I hit a second ball (hit the first one into the woods) and he yells at us again saying “was that your 2nd ball?!” Completely unprofessional, and really put a damper on our round right off the bat. Secondly, the carts are very subpar for a 90$ round. No range finder on the ca…

On Monday, March 30 at 0855 i called this course and was having, what seem to be a cordial conversation with a person in the pro shop. I asked about any discounts like Military and senoir citizens. They said with Military the pathetic owner only recognizes active duty Military, as if all others who served do not matter. People who rely on the freedom from OTHERS, do not have the right to pick and chose who they honor.
