In summary

Royal Niagara Golf Club receives high marks for its well-maintained course conditions, challenging and diverse layouts, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both casual rounds and tournaments. The course's ability to handle adverse weather and accommodate last-minute changes is also appreciated. However, some visitors express frustration with management practices, such as cart restrictions and inconsistent communication, as well as occasional slow pace of play and maintenance issues.

Very well maintained. Greens are faster than greesed lightning! Bunkers are real! Fairways immaculate! Everbody super friendly! Good price! Good food! Great track!

Played the Iron Bridge and Old Canal nines at Royal Niagara on July 29th and overall, it was a great round. Course conditions were impressive given the recent dry and hot weather—fairways were well maintained, and the greens were fast and challenging. While it’s not the most difficult course, accuracy off the tee is key, and there are several well-placed “safe” landing areas to take advantage of. The pace of play was excellent—finished in just under four hours—and the staff were polite, professional, and welcoming throughout. Definitely a course worth visiting if you’re in the Niagara area an…

I was part of a 60 player tournament in Niagara on May 24/25. We were scheduled to play Royal Niagara on the 24th which was the day it rained about 40mm in the region. The course drains really well and has beautiful new cart paths that allowed the Saturday round to go ahead, even when most other local courses had to close. On Sunday, another local golf course had to cancel our tournament due to the previous days rain, and Royal Niagara found a way to add our tournament to the tee sheet on less than 24 hours notice. The efforts of tournament director Matt, the food and beverage team (Chloe, Eli…

Booked a tee time last week for 18 holes at 5:30pm with carts. Played our 9 holes no problem, got to the turn to start our back nine and at 7:20pm and the pro shop worker told us that carts have to be put away by 8pm and we couldn’t play. First off, there was still over a hour and a half left of sunlight remaining in the day, not once were we notified that was a rule that they had to be in by 8pm (it was only 7:20pm too at that time) and additionally, why even allow the system to book 18 holes with a cart at 5:30pm if you’re not aloud out past 7:30pm? Terrible managing and understanding for a…

Great golf course that boasts 3 unique 9 hole layouts. You have the Escarpment, Iron Bridge and Old Canal. The course is well taken care of with its massive fairways and challenging roughs. Greens are no easy feet here as they are massive and make you strategically try to approach the flag. Tee boxes were not in the best of conditions, they need to be rolled out and made nice and flat. Great course overall!

Here's the truth about Royal Niagara. The course is great, not top notch but still a decent track. However the staff and starters is where the issues are. They don't make you feel welcome and look down on you and make it seem like once they have your money they don't care about the experience First off, you check in. Then you have to sign a waiver and wait a few minutes for the person in front of you to do all that first. And don't even think about taking your cart to your vehicle to get your clubs. The starters only give you a key to your cart less than 5 minutes before your tee time. So you'…

Course has made huge strides since Spring 2024. In fairways are plush, Greens are fast and immaculate. I consider it the best Value in Southern Ontario, never an issue to get guys to drive a hour for it. My only complaint and it’s a recurring fail of the golf course is the Goose shit on 18 of Old Canal. Either needs to be cleared by greenskeeper every few hours or experiment with Coyote/Fox decoys on the fringe or opposite ends of green where flag is considering Green is long as a Football field.

Played the Old Canal and Escarpment. Old canal is very difficult and makes escarpment seem like a cake walk. It was a little wet but the pace was decent. They should probably not let walkers on the course as one group did cause a backlog. Overall it was great with some beautiful holes. I would play it again for sure.

What is with this course! Had a tee time for just 9 holes Monday. Only 9 cars in parking lot. We ask if we can play the back 9 and are denied. Love the hospitality! No keys in golf cart until they decide we can head out for play. Seems a little on the narcotic side. We play iron bridge. 5 out of 9 greens are lined with hydraulic oil leaked from machine. So I get the machine sprung a leak. I just do not understand the person that continues to spread the oil over 5 greens. Absolutely worst run golf course ever. UPDATED Back at Royal today. Thank God I golf for free. Again worst managed course e…

Really tough public course. Played a round at 9:15 am tee off time, unfortunately very poor starter management, our round was over 5 hours long and we were backed up by the 2nd hole. When we turned around for the back 9 there was 4 groups not including us on the hole. Would be a higher rating if not for the terrible pacing / poor management of starting groups

Came in from out of town. The course was beautifully maintained and the layout was fantastic. The service was excellent as well mostly thanks to Gwen who kept my entire party very well hydrated. Will absolutely play another round next time I’m in the area.

Nice course with three 9's. The price is perfect. Greens are tricky but I love the challenge. Pace is slower then normal but the course if fun and the staff were all great both times I went. New cart path on the escarpment 9 makes it stand out. All 3 easy to walk. One weird rule that u can't take the cart to your vehicle before only after the round was not cool, pretty much annoyed us before we started it's a good walk from the car to the carts. Overall awesome il play it multiple times and it's an hour drive.
