In summary

The RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes is highly praised for its picturesque setting, challenging layout, and well-maintained greens. Visitors frequently commend the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the comprehensive amenities, including a well-stocked pro shop and a quality restaurant. However, some golfers express concerns about the pace of play due to closely spaced tee times and the difficulty of the greens, which can be particularly challenging for some players.

Play this track every opportunity I get. Proshop personnel, rangers/starters, bag drop personnel, & grill staff are always welcoming & friendly. One of the most picturesque courses I've played & it's always in great shape.

OK, I'm on a long golf vacation across the South, and I have time to play one course in Alabama before heading home to New Jersey. I picked the RTG Silver Lakes, and I'm glad I did. Absolutely beautiful! So after checking the scorecard I see that it is the longest and hardest rated course I've ever played. So naturally I decided to play from the tips. (Please note that I realized I didn't belong there, but the course was empty so I decided to give it a go...) 7,674 yards, course rating 77.7, slope 151. My goal was to break 100, and I shot a smooth 99. Mission accomplished! And I had a blast…

I love this place. It's super convenient from Atlanta and couldn't be more challenging. The 3 separate 9s each provide ridiculous shot making skills. Shooting below 80 from the orange (6700) to the black (7800) is impressive.

Course was great, but management needs to stick to 10 minute tee times.. not every five minutes. Just slammed the course with golfers to stand around at every hole. Sucks when you drive long distances to golf and the club house is only concerned about how many people they can slam on the course. It's all about money .

1st time visiting 7/11/2022 Monday. Easy drive from West Metro ATL. Fine greeting from outdoor staff and pro shop staff. Easy conversion for my previously paid Trail Card (buy this if eligible on-line) to green fee discount. Also purchased one for my wife worth the price for the discount. Nice warm up on the range and putting green. Started was great and let us off early on Mindbreaker. The terrain changes play games with your depth perception. Trust your range finder/GPS. Most putting surfaces are not visible from the fairways. The greens on this side were great. It is really pretty track. He…

Gasden is the last RTJ on our bucket list. RTJ really knows how to design, maintain, and run a golf course. Gadsden is no exception. The greens are immaculate with multiple rolling changes and double breaking greens. Only God can help you if you land above the hole on a downslope. Sand traps a well maintained and easy to hit out of without hitting mud. Fairways are nice Bermuda but rough is thick and punishing. Great golf. The resturant has a super brisket sandwich. Nice place to play we enjoyed. Edit #1 play the short course if you get the chance. Really fun and perfect shape Edit #2 in the r…

As golf destinations go, Gadsden, AL is well down most golfers’ lists; if it weren’t for the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, at Silver Lakes it probably wouldn’t even be on the radar. Silver Lakes is a 36-hole facility on the outskirts of town. Surrounded by the Appalachian foothills and Lee's Lake, Silver Lakes features the most unique and aptly named courses on The Trail: Heartbreaker, Backbreaker, Mindbreaker. All 36 greens (including the short course) boast Champion ultra-dwarf putting surfaces, arguably the best on The Trail. Another trait they share is that they are all elevated; some mo…

Fun tough..maybe unfair, but appreciate your daily play courses. Fantastic views. Some awesome holes. Glad to have added it to my list of places played.

Scenery was beautiful. Layout was tough. Most every green is crowned. Miss it and you will pay dearly. Practice green was lightning fast. Actual greens were nothing like it and were just plain ridiculous. Clownish in fact. You must be this tall to go on this ride! Undulations are one thing but these were just stupid. Sorry RTJ, but this isn't Augusta! Each nine are aptly named, Heartbreaker, Backbreaker and Mindbreaker. They forgot Ballbreaker. Looking to be mentally flogged? This is the place for you. To be fair, it was windy to very windy all day and it was our first time here. The ladies in…
