What People Say

In summary

Sand Hills Golf Resort is appreciated for its reasonably priced and well-maintained course, with a layout that many find enjoyable and suitable for a range of skill levels. The staff generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the resort's amenities, like the clubhouse and pro shop, are well-regarded. However, some visitors report issues with course conditions, such as hard fairways and outdated golf carts, and there are occasional complaints about slow pace of play and unprofessional behavior from marshals.

Played this past Monday morning. Everything was great until the 5th hole where we caught the guy cutting grass. He did not give a crap about us playing. For 5 holes straight he was constantly in the landing zone for ALL of our shots, making us wait at least 2-4 minutes per shot until it got to the point I didn’t give crap anymore and almost hit him twice. Proceeded to our chip shots where he drove within 10ft of us with the blades spinning in the lawn mower. Terrible couple of holes only to reach the turn to see the started to let people start off at #10 at 9am which jammed up the back 9 for u…

Played 9 holes with a cart as it was very hot and glad we did as some holes are quite a distance apart.

Easy to tell where the fairway is, the light rough, and the heavy rough is. Easy to tell where the green is..Anything else is either a sand trap, or a water hazard.... Liking the orientation of the new front nine, which used to be the back nine. Played here since I was a child always a lot of fun. I recommend this course. So much fun even grandma enjoys it.

Played Sandhill with my 2 grandsons on Aug 12. The fairways were totally brown and dry (desert like). The golf carts were in terrible condition and the straps wouldn't hold our golf bags. Straps came loose and dropped our bags on dusty cart paths ,scratching our clubs and soiling the bags. I am a GolfNorth member and would rank this course at the bottom of the barrel .

Very open, well maintained course. More rest stops than most golf courses, I was impressed by that. Clubhouse is nice and large, food is good and quick.

Marshal made inappropriate comments to my wife before we even tee off. Then comes on the tee box and give unwarranted swing tips. At hole 3, 2 foursomes backed up so had to wait 10 min. Marshal gets us on 4 green tells us “hey I know you don’t play much, but hurry it up” rude no need for these comments. Maybe if the marshal wasn’t so cringe we’d enjoy our round and play faster than 1h 45min 9

Only got 1 star because was a free round. Worst conditions on a golf course have ever seen. Dryer than a popcorn fart and no sign of watering being done at all. Golf North,Golf Superintendent and Manager should be ashamed of themselves for course conditions. August 11 2025

The course grounds are kept very well. The fairways and ruff are in great condition, greens are also very good. Customer service at the pro shop was great. I thought the course was laid out well, I really enjoyed the back 9. Would like to see more work put into the clubhouse, would make a great spot to have a nice restaurant.

It's a pretty nice course. The fairways tend to be pretty hard and the bunkers are unplayable at the moment. The staff are really nice.

Course was in good shape couple fairways were rough played this course multiple times beginning of the season l enjoyed it last round the Marshall was a perv and stood on the first tee box like he was an instructor then continued to tell us to hurry up on hole 6 when we were right behind another group he should really find a new job

Played this course on August 16th/2021. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were not rock hard. Bunkers need attention. Maintenance staff deserve credit for keeping the course in decent shape with limited resources. Matt in the pro shop was excellent. It is a fun resort style course that is not too long. I played the 18 holes in just over 2 1/2 hours.
