In summary

Sawmill Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, beautiful landscapes, and challenging layout with unique elevation changes. However, there are mixed reviews regarding course conditions, with some players noting issues like dry fairways, patchy greens, and lack of water stations. Additionally, the pace of play is occasionally slow, and some visitors find the pricing to be high relative to the course's condition.

8/2025 Sawmill or how we dubbed it: "Sawdust" was a little dry. I didn't know there were still courses that weren't irrigated. Clearly there are! Tees were destroyed and rock hard. You needed to predrill before teeing up. We forgot the cordless. No perceptible difference between the fairways and rough. -All were a dog patch of weeds and dust. Greens were long and very patchy. I know this isn't a country club but my Lord. I have never seen more abandoned balls everywhere. It almost was like a range was nearby. The staff was very nice and the hotdogs were excellent. The pace of play? Not so g…

I like the creative use of PVC pipe to mark the white tees... it adds a rustic one of kind feel. Also, hearing "Four right" numerous times over a 5 1/2 hr. round and not getting hit is simply amazing. Seriously though, some holes have an exceptional landscape view, and everyone can appreciate that.

Nice friendly staff! The course was in great condition. It's short but very well laid out making it more challenging than you think. Our group had only one thing that we thought was in need of attention. The greens were on the slow side. They are in great shape though. We definitely will be back!! Really a 4.5 but that's not a choice on ratings.

Pretty fun course. The length is shorter than most courses and the fairways aren't great. It's a fun layout though and just an enjoyable, relaxed round. Good value as well. Play was very slow though.

Hilly in some areas. Fairways, not so great , just cut shorter than the rough. Short course. Easy to score low. The roughs are just long enough to lose sight of the ball. We found three balls in the middle of the fairways. Otherwise it's still a good day for golf and you can still have a lot of fun.

Had a fundraising event here, the grounds were beautiful and Nancy and her staff went out of their way to help us. The catered lunch was awesome, could not have been more pleased.

This will be my sixth time here this year. Great course close to home . The staff is very accommodating and although I haven't played very many courses ,I find the course to be a perfect balance of challenging yet not so difficult that it takes away the fun. Will be back many more times.

Course was very nice! Some dead patches of grass of for the area is more than you can ask for. Restaurant on site, with some cheap prices. Golf carts were quite old but worked just fine

Great course, beautiful views. Some tee boxes are tight (with trees right around) which adds to some fun difficulty. Neat uphills and dowhills. All in all, always very happy playing here.

Course use to be decent. However rates have gone up and course conditions have gotten worse. $55 on a Sunday afternoon and most the greens were 1/4 dirt. Got rained out on hole 13 today. A guy who completed hole 3 got round credit. I asked for 9 hole credit since we did play half a round and were in the same basic spot on the back 9. Got told yes but when I went to go tell my group he changed his mind and said no. Rain didn't bother us and were going to keep playing through. However we understand their choice to close to protect the corse from getting even more torn up. Just confusing on why…

Very disappointed! Will never come back. I booked a tee time online (and pre paid) for myself and my 3 sons (ages 19, 17 & 11) today. When I arrived the guy in the pro shop said I can only take out 1 cart. 2 people have to be 21 to drive both carts…yes, 21 to drive a cart. 16 to drive a car, 21 for a cart?! 🤔 I am the dad, supervising my kids. A 19 year old adult should be allowed to drive a cart under my supervision. No where on the site, during booking, on my receipt, or on my email confirmation did it state this rule. I asked for a $40 refund for the 2nd cart that I paid for and never got.…

Very nice and well maintained course. The only things stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of a driving range/practice green and the lack of water on the course for the golfers. The day we went was scorching hot and when walking up to the empty water stations, we were met with nasty remarks from other golfers claiming “they haven’t provided water since Covid”. Either way, course isn’t overly difficult, however it is well maintained and a very fun play.
