In summary

Sewells Point Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained fairways and greens, friendly staff, and affordability. The course layout is considered accessible for golfers of all skill levels, and the facility includes a practice range and a restaurant. However, some visitors have experienced issues with slow pace of play, limited availability due to frequent tournaments, and inconsistent service at the restaurant.

First time playing today and I'm glad I did because this is a great Donald Ross course. It plays longer visually than on the scorecard. Course conditions were above average and the thick bermuda rough was nice for a change. Clean tee boxes!! Fairly easily course if you can keep it in the fairway. I'd highly recommend playing here at least once. EDIT: I later found out this is not a Donald Ross design. Still a great course that feels different from other courses in the area.

Greens are nice and the fairways have grass but they are way to proud of that golf course, it was cart path only and you couldn't even hear the water under your feet. Its a no cash golf course, card only!

Drove from Pinehurst to play this Donald Ross course. Pleasantly surprised by the great condition of the course and how friendly the staff were. Mary hooked us up for a beautiful day of golf at a great price. The food was wonderful at well at the turn. Get the buffaloe chicken wrap. Definitely coming back to this place again.

The course is in great shape. Greens are rolling perfect. Worth the cost to play! I give a 1 star mainly because of the starter. My freind was running late 5min behind a 10:07 tee time. The starter was pushing me to tee off early, asked me 4 times prior to the tee time where my friend was. Keep saying youre holding me up when nobody else was there to tee off after my time. Caused me anxiety for no reason. I ended up teeing off without my friend so I didnt have to listen to the starter, as I was teeing the guy annouced it on the loud speaker. Introduced me teeing off like a tournament. HE DID N…

Today was the first time playing the course. The fairways and greens are in fantastic shape. Greens are really fast! Well worth the $1300 a year membership however I live in Newport News and that commute everyday would be crazy. Great deal if you live in norfolk.

Good golf course. The range is conveniently located next to the lot. Only drawback about the range is no woods. The course itself is maintained well, easily walkable and a challenge to play. Prices are better than average for the location. Recommend if in the area.

So first and only time here. Was here for a charity tournament. The course seemed ok, nothing impressive or terrible other than the tee boxes. However, the way the tournament was run was not good. No signage, registration, assistance or anything to justify there was a charity tournament, especially with seeing a bunch of casual golfers teeing off before the tournament start. We got going and noticed they packed the tournament on a few holes and let other golfers keep teeing off. It took 1.5 hours to play 4 holes. There were 4 groups backed up on #1 at the turn in front of us, and we all had ev…

I was beyond impressed today with my round. I hadn’t played this course in probably 8 years. Certainly not since it went fully public. I do not remember it being anywhere near this well maintained. The greens were immaculate, the fairways were lush and gasp…the bunkers had sand in them. If I had to nitpick I’d call out the riding rate of $52 compared to $34 to walk. That said, it’s nice to be able to walk at any time so there’s that. Tremendous work on the course guys. It surely won’t take me 8 years to come back this time. Update 5/6/23 Sad to say the course is not anywhere near the shape it…

Course isn’t in bad shape but when you call they should tell you they just punched all the greens. The young man in the pro shop seems a little bit clueless. Wasn’t very helpful. Paid $146 for club rental, 18 holes, 2 sleeves of proV’s and it took 6.5 hours to play because the pace of play was ungodly.
