In summary

Shadow Lakes Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging and engaging course layout, with notable elevation changes and well-maintained greens, offering beautiful views and a variety of holes. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing to a positive atmosphere. However, some visitors have noted issues with certain course conditions, such as unkempt tee boxes and inconsistent fairway quality, as well as limited amenities like food options and the use of mats on the driving range.

Played a round on a cold, foggy Saturday morning and really enjoyed the course layout. It’s very walkable, and walking seems popular with the local players. Compared to flatter courses, this one is a bit more challenging, with noticeable elevation changes and some longer walks between holes. A few tee boxes and fairways could use some attention, but overall the course was in good condition. The sandy soil was a pleasant surprise—easy on the hands 🙂. Pace of play was solid; we finished the round in under five hours even though tee times were fully booked that day.

Beautiful views on almost every hole. Very hilly course, with difficult undulating greens, several with false fronts. Most holes have wide fairways, and not many trees. It is a very nice course and I always look forward to playing it. They do have a putting green, but it is very small, and the range uses mats instead of real grass. They have a few food items in the clubhouse plus beer and mixed drinks, but not a full "restaurant and bar". Overall I have no real complaints about Shadow Lakes Club - I am very pleased and highly recommend it.

I played this course back about 10 years ago and had a fantastic time on it. Unfortunately, it closed for a while, and I truly missed having it around. Thankfully, the course is open again! I noticed some changes, but they're much nicer improvements. However, during my recent Sunday visit at 11:15 AM, it took nearly 6 hours to complete the round due to a tournament ahead of us. Despite the long wait, the course itself is so enjoyable that I couldn't complain. I'll definitely be back for another round soon!

We had our wedding at this venue in June and it was an amazing experience! The venue offered both indoor and outdoor spaces, which were perfect for our celebration. Despite the heat, everything went smoothly. Patricia the event manager was incredible and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this venue!

Its a fun course. Marshall's are roaming quite frequently helping keep the pace with other slower groups.

Had an awesome round at Shadow Lakes. The course is in great shape super well maintained from tee to green. I didn’t run into any slow groups, which made the pace really enjoyable. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the layout itself is both fun and challenging. Definitely one of those courses that keeps you engaged the whole time. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Ugh, I just got back from a golf course, and it was a mixed bag, to say the least. The prices were pretty reasonable, which was a nice surprise for my wallet 🤑. The pro shop staff were super friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome 🤗. However, the course itself was incredibly confusing, with a layout that didn't make much sense. Honestly, I spent more time wandering than golfing 😠. Unfortunately, I won't be returning anytime soon. #ConfusingCourse #MixedFeelings

I regret I didn’t make it out here sooner only living 5 mins away. Course is in amazing shape. So much fun and variety 2 par 5’s 3 par 3’s. Elevation, downhill, tough greens. Played in the Thursday night scramble, it’s so much fun, can’t wait to do another one.

This used to be my favorite golf course in Brentwood, including Roddy Ranch and Deer Ridge, both which have since been permanently closed. I was so happy that Shadow Lakes finally reopened, but now it's only 9 holes. It's not worth a 25 minute drive each way (from my house in Concord) to play a 9 hole course. Very disappointing. I would love to go back there as frequently as I used to if they reopen the full course to it's original specs, but not until then....... The attached photo is from back in May of 2015 which I believe was the fantastic 6th hole (Sorry for the poor resolution).

2.5 to 3 stars. Best two things about this course were some of the views you get and the greens. The greens were in really great shape and rolled very nice. Some of the cups didn’t seem to be cut the best, but that could be from the amount of play and the flag going in and out all day. The fairways were wide so you don’t have to be extremely accurate off the tee too. Visually, the golf course is a mess. Don’t let the lush green fairways on the website fool you. The fairways were more of a burnt-out grey and felt more like crab-grass. They were also hard as a rock. I was in quite a few bunkers…

Challenging course and fun to play. Greens are not in the best shape and need attention to.

Pretty nice place, greens are well kept and carts are speedy - plus they don't disable you randomly on the fairway
