In summary

Sheaffer Memorial Golf Park is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and knowledgeable, friendly staff. The clubhouse and amenities are also highlighted as excellent, making it a popular venue for events and tournaments. While most reviews are positive, some mention occasional issues with course access due to member priority and temporary conditions affecting the greens.

I liked the course layout. Some easier holes and some challenging holes. The bad part was that greens had been top dressed a few days/a week prior, and putting was not fun. (Bad timing) Although those who played it previously said the greens are always in very good shape. Will go back.

Wonderful place to have a baby shower, wedding party or a course of 18 hole golf. Beautiful club house.

I rate this course 5*! Nice runs, well kept and you can almost always get a T-time. There are some nice open fairways, yet still technical. The greens are in good shape and well maintained. The driving range is always native grass. Never have to worry about practicing from turf… The staff is awesome! Very pleasant every time. One of my cleats didn’t make it into my vehicle last time I played. I called out there and sure enough, they had it put back for me.

Very nice local course with quick, slick rolling greens and good fairways ( I guess, I can say the rough is playable!) LOL.

As a recreational golfer it's almost impossible to play here from 9am to 11am the management let's the members run the course. Been trying for years but after 3 im finally done playing here. Sprit hollow is cheaper and is the #2 course in iowa only about 5 miles away. Also flint hills in burlington way more worth it!!

The manager Ryan is very accommodating in setting up tee times, events, and treats all like a close neighbor! Offer instruction, best ball tournaments, great food! The course is wide open, well kept up!

Loved the course. The clubhouse was great. Staff ŵàs excellent. Didn't play well but it was me not the course. I want to play it again and I will. Course was in great shape. I know I can do better. So I want to play it again.

I lived here before it was the golf course in the original manor residence and farm. Went to Sawyer elementary before schools consolidated to Fort Madison. Are there any pictures of the original residence and place out there you would be willing to share?

Great, knowledgeable staff. Enough of a challenge to keep you wanting to improve. Just a really fun, clean, well maintained course. A good value in golf.
