Spirit Hollow Golf Course

Beautiful layout. Fair but challenging for all skill levels. Greens were extremely slow due to sand. I suppose sand is to be expected in early November as the course prepares for winter. Photo shows clubhouse in the distance with multi-tiered tees for #10

Beautiful course just south of Burlington off Hwy 61. Driving range now offers $10/1hour unlimited balls! Nice affordable alternative to the nearby indoor range, Shankapotomus (which is extremely nice, but more pricey).

Wow, what a course! Only had time to play nine, but this was exceptional! Multiple tees, great fairways, rough can be bad, greens were perfect! Probably the best since coming down from Alaska. This course can be easy and can be challenging. The staff is par excellant, and the facilities top notch, wish I could have done 18 as the back nine look just as delicious! Take the drive, come and be challenged, you won't regret it.

I have played this course 100 times, moved out of state and always come back to play. Love it, but it is sad to see money is not being put back into it from a maintenance perspective. The cart paths are falling apart, and the tee boxes are not maintained like yrs past. Still one of my favorites.

Very nice public golf course. It was in great shape, greens were fairly fast and not full of ball marks. Beautiful topography, loved the back nine links style.

Had my son's birthday at Shankapotamos with friends. Golf was great but restaurant Lambos has been closed since last November and was told we couldn't order food from another place. They should have alternate food sources available.

We had a great stay and play experience. The course lives up to the hype of being one of the best in Iowa. The service is also phenomenal. Jayson and his team took great care of us from ensuring that we had plenty of beverages in our room to coordinating our activities at night. We will definitely be coming back!

Shankopatumas is not what it used to be. They no longer serve food, the bartender didn’t know how to make simple mixed drinks, the ball dispensers were broken and had water in them so we were fishing the balls out of water.

Staff was extremely friendly. Course was beautiful and in great shape. The elevation made for unique holes and blind shots. Keep your shots in play and you will score well. Not much forgiveness for errant shots.

A beautiful but unforgiving golf course. Make sure to hit straight ir bring lots of balls. I think the course got about 15 at least from me.

My favorite regional golf course within hours!! And I have played quite a few. Excellent grounds, can’t say enough nice things about this establishment. Some of the best greens in the Midwest, well manicured fairways....really can’t say enough nice things about this place! Someone once asked me my favorite hole there. I got to thinking about it and I couldn’t really come up with a hole I love the most nor a hole I hate the most. This will be one of your favorite rounds to play all year! High quality golf going on at Spirit Hollow. What a fun course

Great course for the money and worth the drive to Burlington. A great course experience and a beautiful community surrounds thus challenging yet rewarding golf experience. I will be back to play again soon.
