In summary

Sky Valley Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, scenic mountain setting, and friendly, accommodating staff. The layout offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience, with varied elevation and picturesque views that enhance the golfing experience. While most visitors appreciate the overall conditions, some have noted issues with the speed of the greens and drainage, as well as a desire for more vibrant activity within the club's amenities.

Played July 22nd, 2025. The course is maintained very well for the most part, unfortunately something out of the grounds crew's hands is people properly repairing their pitch marks on the greens, which many before us didn't seem to do. But other than that, the fairways were very good, and the greens were fast. The layout is very scenic, with quite a few dogleg rights. Not a particularly long course, the challenge comes with positioning off the tee.

Super fun course. Lots of great views. Staff is very hospitable, like that southern hospitality. Greens roll a little slower and the fairways are super soft. So soft that its hard to find drives because the plugged in the ground. If the course drained better it would be a super fun course. The food inside is also good. Not busy at all and its good food at a reasonable price.

This is truly a great mountain course that is still only semi private. A must play if you’re in the area.

Great golf course, with challenging holes, and wide fairways, The bunkers had good sand, and the greens were fast as I like them. The staff was great. It was a Sunday so the restaurant was limited but the food we got was good but a bit pricey.

3 days of golf, day one was great little warm but overall the course was outstanding. Day 2 rain in the am, Cary path only but cleared up and good. Day 3 no rain, rough drive only, great day of golf. Fairways are in fantastic shape and the greens are the best I’ve played all year. Highly recommend Sky Valley. The course layout and views makes the course special.

If you are here in the fall of the year you will get to play one of the most beautiful holes of golf I have ever seen. Number 16 late in the afternoon, with the sun at your back and a tee shot that sores up in the air against a mountain backdrop of fall colors. Make sure someone can video that shot for you to keep. Played early November 2025 and the course was one of the best I have ever played for that time of the year. Hands off to the supper here. And a great staff inside the shop. Man, I hope I have the opportunity to play next year.

Beautiful mountain golf course in great shape but what I noticed more than the course were the people running it, the service was welcoming and accommodating. My 6 year old grandson was with me and his dad and we were concerned as to whether or not they would let him ride the course with us but not only did they let him ride, they strapped a set of little clubs to the cart and he was BEAMING at the thought of being included! Shout out to Sky Valley! We will be back in the fall!

Course was very scenic. Greens were so fast that they were unfair. Had very little contact with personnel working there as I played in a state golf tournament ran by state persons. Course plays harder than slope rating indicates but knowing that you can play the course and know what to expect. The course is well maintained.

Beautiful place to golf and visit to relax. There are several time shares for rent right on the golf course, Sawgrass being the larges and while is show it age, it is a cheap and pleasant place to relax for one and 2 bedroom with full kitchen, washer and dryer, I would look make one week vacation and enjoy all the waterfalls, trails, and small towns around like highland just 10 miles away. I go up every your to see the leaves changing color after 30 years of coming, I still look forward each year to coming and relaxing here with my wife.
