The entire resort still has construction and practically each view is blocked by bulldozers etc. The floors in the rooms were filthy, they clearly had not been cleaned in a long time, aging toilets that I had to call maintenance on. You will need to rent a golf cart to get around, walking from rooms to restaurants or anything else is not doable. You won't be able to see any beachfront as all of North Captiva now has 12 ft sand dunes. Pros: all the restsurants were delicious and rhe water park was great and very clean and it is brand new.

Shout out to Raheem for his amazing Bingo commentary. He made it so fun!!! Jennifer, Diane, and Curly were awesome bartenders at the pool! They kept me loose, relaxed, and sane. : ) Kate and Ernie were awesome trolley drivers. Learned so much about the island from them.

We just came back from an amazing experience at South Seas- we have been going down for many years. After the hurricane it took a little bit for things to come back to normal-but we knew the wait would pay off. However, we just got back from our annual trip down there and they hit it out of the park over the last year with upgrading the entire resort. The resort upgrades were beyond amazing and more than perfect for our family with a 3 and 8 year old. The restaurants they put in, the work out facility, the water park, even the basic items around the Bayview pool. The workout facility is brand…

This review is to specifically call out the trolley drivers who take you from place to place around the resort. Larry went above and beyond to extend his schedule to make sure my daughter and I could get to the other end of the island safely. We really appreciate these drivers, their positive attitude, and they’re willingness to go above and beyond. Thank you!

South Seas has clean and fun new amenities as of 2026. It is a beautiful location and very family friendly. We didn't realize the rooms are all privately owned and managed by South Seas, so there can be variation among rooms - for example, our room did not have access to sign into Netflix or other apps on the TV. Since this is managed by the owner, there was nothing South Seas could do about it. We also experienced the elevator being out of service for most of our stay, which was an inconvenience as traveling with a toddler, accessibility was important. The pools were clean and beautiful. We w…

The trolley service was amazing. Larry is a great driver and very helpful with information about the resort and the island. He is very safe when it comes to picking up and dropping off guests. I give him 5 stars.

Amazing adventure for our young family (3 and 1). From the room setup, to the beach access, to the fantastic pools, and assortment of amenities. Would recommend this destination for everyone. Captiva island is serene and beautiful! They’ve recovered well from Hurricane Ian. Renting a golf cart through Chris at South Seas was fair and a highlight of our trip. Our kids loved cruising around the golf cart, which made transport very easy. Chris (and Brooke!) was so kind to us, cared deeply about our experience, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with their service. Chris’s staff…

I preface this with the understanding that South Seas was almost wiped off the face of the earth with Ian. I had heard South Seas had reopened to partial capacity in March of 25. My husband and I decided to get away for a couple of days. Based on all accounts from the website everything was fine. We arrived Monday afternoon and we're greatest by really friendly staff. We booked 2 nights in a guest suite $220 aprox and a 25 resort fee, not horrible for a resort of this magnitude. The directions we were given to our room were not correct and had us at the opposite end of the island from our ro…

Obviously everything was great, but our waitress Teresa was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Her vibe and attention are on POINT, I would recommend trying to get her to wait your table, she’s awesome at her TWO jobs (she doubles as the bartender and STILL comes and checks on you frequently, it’s amazing)!! <3

We had a wonderful family vacation at South Seas! Diego Clarke was incredibly helpful and kind. He was so quick to set us up with towels, beach chairs & umbrellas. He also went above and beyond by helping one of our family members (who was having a hard time walking due to an injury) get down to our beach setup. He was all smiles and we looked forward to seeing him each day. Thank you, Diego! P.s. Shout out to Cayden, John & Arnaux who also made our beach days so easy with their kindness & quickness to help. You’re all awesome!
