In summary

Sportsmans Golf Course receives mixed feedback, with several visitors praising its challenging layout, well-maintained greens, and affordability, making it a great value in the area. However, some guests report dissatisfaction with course maintenance, particularly the bunkers and rough, and express concerns about staff interactions, highlighting issues with hospitality and adherence to cart path rules. Overall, while some find the course enjoyable and well-kept, others feel improvements in customer service and facility upkeep are needed.

This is the worst golf course I've played in the area the bunkers are the worst I've seen. The staff is incredibly rude and for $42 I expect a lot more! Don't even bother playing this course will never be back. Anybody that rates this a five star is lying

**Sportsman's Golf Course Review: 5/5 Stars** My girlfriend and I had an absolute blast at Sportsman's Golf Course last weekend—it's the kind of place that hooks you from the first tee. The layout is top-notch: impeccably manicured fairways, strategic bunkering, and greens that roll true but punish any lapse in focus. It's challenging enough to keep skilled players engaged, yet forgiving for mid-handicappers like us, with multiple tee options and wide landing zones on par 4s that let you attack without constant fear. What elevated the round from great to memorable, though? The ranger, Court.…

good to know its the owner with the audacity to talk to people like that. enjoy your review bombed failing golf course. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because the man at the front desk was super nice and helpful. The bunkers are full of weeds, the fairways are full of goose poop and holes to lose your ball into. The lady grounds keeper is possibly the rudest person I've ever encountered on a golf course. On the green of hole 2 she came out of nowhere and started screaming at us for having a golf cart with 3 people in it after being told to only take 2 carts by the man at th…

This place used to be great and always in excellent condition when they had a true golf professional. Now the golf staff is terrible and they do not give you a welcoming feeling, they come out and yell at you if you get a wheel of the cart off the path around the tees and greens. Normally I think that is a fine practice however at this place all you are disturbing is the dirt and rocks. The golf course looks unkept. Possibly the worst golf experience I have had in the past 15 years. If they paid me to play there I would not. Save your money and find somewhere else!

It was our first and last time here. We accidentally went into a restricted area and a man came up and told us it was a restricted area. I was letting my buddy grab his club and the guy continued to yell at us not even 10 seconds after I said okay and was going to move the cart. The fairways were fine no major issues. But the rough was so poorly maintained that even if you saw exactly where your ball landed you won’t be able to see the ball. The markers for where it’s cart path only are not clear and if you violate it once they will be nasty towards you. The course wasn’t the issue though it w…

Where do I begin with this place. For the price I expected way more and from what I’ve read from others they have the same expectations. Course is horribly maintained, I’ve heard horror stories about Heather for years only to realize everything is true about her. But here’s is the real kicker. I brought my son out to play who is a recovering addict only to be presented with a trash can that had what appeared to be used needles and what seemed to be a dirty diaper next to a trash can. It seems this place has no shame and will defend itself in any manner to take away responsibility and apply it…

Four will be your lucky number at this course. First off the staff seem very friendly, but they insist on pairing you up (we had to wait 10 min just for a random golfer to show up and pair with us). 10 min we could've spent golfing. The course is very cramped. Some fairways share the same rough. Because of that, there are golfballs everywhere. Some holes are more skilled with a sharp turn or big hill to play through. The price is around $35-40 18 holes cart included. Not a great course, but not the worst either.

My friends and I played this course on Wednesday October 1st and the course was in beautiful shape. I have played here many times over the years and this is the best I've ever experienced in terms of the condition of the course itself. The staff in the pro shop is very professional and personable. This course is a great value for the price paid and it is one of the most reasonably priced courses in the area. Kudos to the groundskeepers!

Excellent layout which challenges players of all skill levels. The greens and approaches are well maintained & receptive. You will use every club in your bag here so it is a great course to play a tournament warmup round. Greens fees are low making this is a great value! This would be a 5 star review but traps need to be turned into grass bunkers & I recommend winter rules. The maintenance staff headed by Heather and Zig does a great job on a tight budget - this course could be turned into a diamond with a country club budget. Watch the mountain since the grain on the green runs away from the…

It's a value course. The playing conditions and surfaces are maintained better than my local course and a round of golf at the course is affordable and priced fairly given its geograhi al location in the greater Harrisburg area, that being our state capitol city. I will be back to play again this season.

After the weather gave us a reprieve I was able to get out and play a round at Sportsmans. It was a very enjoyable round. The greens had been aerated much earlier so they were in great shape. Fairways were cut and you could find your shot in the rough. A few areas affected by weather were clearly marked so play could continue without delay. Watching families of deer casually grazing added to a fun round.

Came ready for a fun day of golf, but this course clearly values cart path compliance over basic course maintenance or honest hospitality. From the jump, it was all about the “cart path only” rule—even in spots where the grass was already dead or the ground was bone dry. You’d think we were driving tanks, not golf carts. Still, I was willing to let it all slide—until we hit the 19th hole. “Ma” behind the bar told us the “premade” transfusions were made with Tito’s. One sip and anyone with a functioning tastebud could tell we were dealing with a cheap Russian imposter. And sure enough, the bot…
