In summary

Squaw Valley Golf Club receives praise for its scenic location, challenging layouts, and friendly staff, with many visitors appreciating the well-maintained fairways and greens, especially on the Links course. However, some guests have expressed concerns about inconsistent course conditions, particularly the state of the greens and bunkers, and the absence of water stations on the course. Despite these issues, the club remains a popular destination due to its overall value and enjoyable golfing experience.

1/4/26 Came and played the Links course, everything was great. Greens were 8/10, fairway was in good shape despite it being winter & overall everything else seemed fresh. Bunkers were maintained well. I saw a few reviews and was worried about playing but the course was great today - staff was super friendly & the lady at the tee box was awesome.

I once LOVED this golf course but sadly someone has really let it go bad. Greens are terrible, half the bunkers are overgrown and not raked, many tee boxes have not been mowed in quite a while and have lots of weeds. I’m so sad about this golf course slipping into such bad shape. Hopefully someone comes along and improves it. Wonderful layout on an awesome piece of land.

If you’re anything like me, you love this golf club, but it’s a bit out of the way. After reading all the negative reviews about the greens, I haven’t played here in about 18 months. I’ve been waiting for the reviews to improve, and finally, I decided to take the chance and make the drive. I played the Lakes course, and I’m happy to report that the course is in great shape! There are a few bad greens, with the worst being the second hole green. You can tell they have worked a ton on the greens because the good ones were great! I’m so glad this course is back on track. I can’t wait for the summ…

Two very good 18-hole courses with challenging layouts. Greens in very good shape, though a few dead spots in winter overseed. Range was good with decent practice balls, but grass a bit worn out in some locations. Overall a good deal for the money.

2 18 hole courses. One links - one traditional. Great layouts. Great staff. Both courses in very good shape. Stay in town o play both courses. Glen rose is a cool little town. They also serve a great burger! Highly recommend!

Played for the first time 9/28. Great course, but not in good shape. The course does not allow ANY outside food and drink. OK, I can live with that. I brought my water bottle. It ran dry on the 7th hole of the Lakes course. Unbeknownst to me, they do not have water jugs on the course. I went into the stinky restroom to fill up my water bottle. Refilled, took a few swallows and refilled it again. The cart girl came up. I asked her where I could get water. She said, I had to buy it from her or go to the clubhouse and fill it up there. The Lakes course does not get close to the clubhouse until ho…

Staff was very friendly! Course seems to be in rough shape. The greens are improving from earlier in the year, but still in poor shape. The tee boxes on certain holes seemed to just be weeds. Clumps of previously mowed grass were everywhere and a good place to lose a ball on the fairway. The 2 stars are for friendly staff and a beautiful layout on the lakes course. Also, pace of play was very good. We have played both courses in the last couple of months, and there is so much potential for this to be a destination golf resort with proper course maintenance.

We love playing this course. The best scenery in North Texas! Staff is attentive. And the food is good. Don’t hesitate to play their course. You won’t regret it!

Nice 4 day getaway to play both courses. Even though they received 5-6 inches of rain just days earlier courses were in great shape. Apache links is a links style course. Lots of open area and some contours to the fairwzys. Comanche lakes is more traditional with trees, river and several Doyle fairways. Pro shop was stocked well, friendly staff. Large driving range and putting and chipping area. The only downside is when you play Comanche Lakes, you play all 18. There is no turn at the clubhouse for lunch and drinks. (They didn't tell me) I really enjoyed the two courses, reasonably priced, Go…

I got to play here in a Golf Scramble, it is a nice course both of them are. The staff were friendly and the course landscape was great! The only bad part is the Golf carts are slow, but that is understandable for safety reasons. If you ever get an opportunity to play Golf here I would definitely recommend it!

I come to the area for work, and this is always one of my first stops. 36 holes in a beautiful piece of property. This is an absolute gem. Just over an hour south of Fort worth. Value is great, the pro shop workers have always been polite and helpful. They just finished off the new bar/party building that was just a patio before. So nice and better than the little snack snack they had before. The pro shop has a few nice selections. But not a ton. Under armour shirts. Titleist hats and clubs. Footjoy shoes. Some tees. Ball markers and ball mark repair tools. Awesome practice facility big range,…
