In summary

St Marlo Country Club is praised for its beautiful course layout, challenging play, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice in the Gwinnett/Fulton area. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, including uneven tee boxes, unkept bunkers, and problematic greens, as well as dissatisfaction with the management of pace of play and the condition of cart paths. Additionally, there are concerns regarding the HOA's management and communication, which have affected some guests' experiences.

Very good experience overall - excellent people/service and the beautiful golf course is in decent shape for sure. We played in a Thursday afternoon and it definitely has all the “things” you’d expect at a higher end golf course. I was greeted at the bag drop, the folks in the pro shop were super nice, starter was funny, our cart girl was excellent and youngsters greeted us at the end of the round to make sure we were good and attend to our clubs as needed. The only thing absent was a ranger. The course itself is beautifully laid out and very tough. It winds through the subdivision so lots o…

I have played golf and visited my friends/clients here many times, but my recent experience has completely changed my view. After receiving what I believe to be a false ticket from the front gate staff, I decided to challenge it. That ticket was absolutely unjustified, and I intend to fight this. I went to the HOA office in good faith. Upon arrival, the staff member kept me waiting outside the office for over ten minutes while she chatted on the phone about matters completely unrelated to HOA business. When I finally got assistance, they did explain the appeals process—but here’s the catch: I…

Very Nice Golf course that has been a staple in the Gwinnett/Fulton area for years. Everything was good- Rate (hot deal), Pace, fairways, and yardage. My only negative observation was some of the greens are dried out and could use some TCL. Now it is Late August and it’s very hot this week but beware- see Chimneys and Royal Lakes. Overall, great experience and the course layout is fair and will definitely challenge all handicaps.

Course is cart path only for a few months in the winter, which is fine, but they don't allow walking due to pace of play.....

Attended a golf scramble on Sept 15 2025, 100 golfers. The course was in deplorable condition, the bunkers were not raked with weeds protruding in the bunkers, the tee boxes were chewed up, the greens were recently sanded and still had large amounts of sand on the greens which made it very difficult to putt, cart paths uneven with numerous broken cement slabs. To serve up a course like this with 100 players playing a very expensive charity scramble is absolutely ridiculous. The staff was very accommodating but the course was an embarrassment to the players

I called ahead of time and was told the driving range sold balls until 6:30 PM on Monday and closed at 7 PM. I drove 40 minutes to get there and then they said actually we close at 4:30 on Monday. I had to spend over an hour driving back through rush-hour traffic because somebody told me the wrong thing. Two hours of my life wasted, and when I called back Reed said "I don't know what to tell you" and would do nothing about it.

Clubhouse staff are super friendly, and I really enjoyed my 9-hole tournament. Very nice course, some issues with the cart path and broken concrete, but otherwise great course

I feel compelled to share a review about the golf course because of the price point. Please note this review is coming from someone who plays out of a private club and that golf is his number one thing. First, the positive: The people are lovely, extremely nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, the golf course is straddling the line of disrepair. This is very sad given that I used to work here 30 years ago. The bunkers are completely unkept and unplayable. All tee boxes are uneven and chewed up. However, remarkably, the greens are in pretty good shape with the exception that no one repairs the…

First time playing this course. Very nice layout and well maintained fairways. However, greens were horrible with dead spots everywhere. Range was small. Starter was not the friendliest. Cost of round is very fair.

One of my favorite courses in the area. Well maintained and run with class. The play provides great challenges with varying elevation and well placed traps.

Course is in absolute trash condition. Greens are awful, cart path is a total joke it needs more repairs than all the courses I’ve ever played on COMBINED, by far, not even close. 1 hole on the front is closed, tee boxes are sand, it’s absolutely awful. Oh and to top it off the starter Mike is a disrespectful, loud mouthed, hall monitor. Zero stars, put zero thought into going here and zero chance we ever return. They should have paid us to come out and play. Oh and it was $50 for nine holes. GFY, St. Marlos it was a miserable experience, you should be ashamed and should fire Mike while you’re…
