In summary

St. Clair Shores Country Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course with a traditional layout, offering a pleasant experience for golfers of varying skill levels. The staff is generally friendly, and the amenities, including a restaurant and electric carts, are well-received. However, some visitors have encountered issues with tee time management and customer service, and there are occasional concerns about the condition of cart paths and the behavior of other players affecting the pace of play.

This is a lovely Matthews designed golf course, it is a very traditional layout that has great looks and views as you approach each hole. If you haven't played, you won't be disappointed. The courses immaculately maintained by the greens crew and by the golfers that respect the cars! A must try

I’ve played 6 rounds here over the past month. Fairways and greens are in great shape. They are in the process of repaving some cart paths, but it didn’t affect play other than one or two holes being redirected. Wish more of the players would fix their ball marks and sand their divots. No excuse other than laziness. Friendly pro shop, but one of the starters is grouchy as hell! Who knows why? Being a starter is a chill job. All in all a great place to play and a good value.

Booked 3 tee times a few weeks ahead of time for my diaper party with friends. Called twice to confirm and spoke to someone who acknowledged the tee time. The week before they called and said they had an outing booked and would not honor the reserved tee times. I was traveling in from out of town and had to scramble last minute to find a course that would accept a group of 12 on a Saturday in August. Played phone tag and never heard back. You are much better off booking a course somewhere else.

I had not visited Saint Clair Shores golf club for about 20 years when I hit the links this morning not much is changed but that’s not a bad thing necessarily the price is very fair. I paid $28 for 18 holes. The course was in decent shape greens were a little fast, but I think things had just been mowed. Nice guy in the pro shop. Carts were electric and they definitely had some scoot to them. The greens were in OK shape. It would be nice if more people fixed their divots. Overall, for a municipal course I think it’s a great deal and recommend the golf here things that might annoy you: several…

Worse golf course I’ve ever been to. Had a tee time at 251 and on hole 3 two kids decided to steal our golf ball and throw it in the water and then continued to hole 4 and was in the pond looking for golf balls. I have never seen this in my life at a golf course. Called the pro shop said they would send a ranger out and they never sent anyone out. Don’t ever golf here.

Only problem with the course is the starter doesn’t know how to spread people out so your consistently waiting or being waited on, and always pair up with randoms if I wanted to play with a random I would ask them in the parking lot when I reserve for 3 I expect to play with 3 and not 3 and some random bozo I never met, my advice give people a 15 min period to golf not everyone’s pga level people are trying to learn and stop pairing randoms with randoms if someone wants to golf by themselves LET THEM..

One of the better muni courses around. Greens are kept up nicely(despite the hacks that don't repair ball marks). Grew up playing here.

I have played this course a few times this summer. It's generally in good shape. Some of the tee boxes, could use a little work, but it is a public course that gets a lot of play, so the wear is not unreasonable. The greens are consistent for speed. Some days they are faster than other days. They provide a senior discount which I appreciate. Also, a discount if you are a resident of St. Clair Shores. The staff are friendly. There is a restaurant on site, and the bathroom are clean. It is a nice place to play and relax. Expect to play 18 hole in about 4 hours.

i normally love this course and always have great interactions here however “Jerrry” from the pro shop just had me on hold for over 15 mins and when he finally got off hold he just told me i couldn’t make a tee time

This is a very nice playable course for the average golfer. Good condition fairways and greens and a fair amount of water in play. If you hit the ball 250+ this is not likely your type of course as yardages are shorter than average courses. Great for golfers with shorter games.
