In summary

Stony Creek Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained fairways, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a decent option within a metro park setting. However, many visitors express frustration over the slow pace of play and the condition of some tee boxes, particularly on holes like #17, which detracts from the overall experience. Additionally, the requirement of a park entry fee and occasional maintenance issues, such as dry fairways and closed amenities, are noted concerns.

My round at Stony Creek Metropark Golf Course was a frustrating experience due to a significant lack of proper pace of play management. While the course itself was in very good condition—with well-maintained fairways and fast, true greens—the stacked tee sheet and a starter who seemed unprepared to handle the diverse groups of golfers created a brutal bottleneck. The course's true difficulty, especially from the tips where it demands precise target golf, was overshadowed by the constant waiting. It's a fundamental failure of course management when an operation prioritizes squeezing in extra te…

A decent metro park course but some of the holes felt quite repetitive. You will need a pass to get into the park. Cant be too picky with a metro course but keep it in mind. Decently taken care of and the check in was very quick and painless. About 22-26 for our 9 that we played.

Nice course overall with a fun layout and solid conditions in most areas. However, tee boxes on holes #3 and #17 need major repair. There’s more dirt than grass which takes away from the experience. Hopefully maintenance can address those soon because the course has a ton of potential

Nice course, kept up pretty well. We had a tee time of 3:45 , we didn’t get to tee off until about 4:30. It was cart path only. Other then that it’s a great course and would play again.

Staff was quite nice, course was in very rough shape. Driving range was also closed. Pictured was the 17th tee box. Greens rolled well but were in rough shape overall

Disc golf courses are great but why the pay to play? I mean you’re already paying to enter the park and no other activity within the metro park is charged a fee. Also, why is there no military discount on annual passes? I used to come here all the time but now I tend to avoid it.

The course needs a lot of work. Some Tee boxes are awful, more dirt than grass, PLEASE FIX THEM! The fairways are so dry the ground is cracking, PLEASE USE THE SPRINKLERS! Some sand traps are good, some need new sand. The course layout is beautiful, it requires professional maintenance. It seems like they spent all their grounds keeping money on new carts instead of maintaining the course.

Stoney Creek Metropark golf course is located inside the park. You have to pay a fee or get a Metropark annual pass to drive to the course. The park is located off 26 mile rd west of Mound road. The course has a driving range, but make sure you have extra time because it takes 10 minutes to get there after you enter the park. The greens were in good condition. The fairways were ok. There was minimal ground under repair. The tee boxes need work and were not level. Bring your long clubs. This course is on the longer side for a public course. Overall, I would recommend this golf course as one t…

Fairly well maintained. Rate does not include metropark access, which is needed to reach golf course. Additional $10 for park day pass. Can't get to golf course without pass.

Our group of 24 played Stony Creek this morning 9/7/25. We were all very disappointed with the condition of it. Most of the tees were void of grass. Many of the fairways were scalped of grass and very bumpy. Most of the greens eould not hold a properly struck shot. What's the deal with the 17th tee? No grass in the seeing area.

Golfed here 7/29/23. It was unbelievable how many tee times they had tried to cram in. There was around 8 carts and 4 walkers still infront of us at our 3:00 tee time. We teed off at 3:40 and got done at pitch black 9:20. Course also would not allow any refund after a 3.5 hour front 9, even though it was all their fault. A standard tee time is around 8-10 minutes apart from each-other. The people behind us had a tee time booked for 5 minutes after us. They are stuffing this as full as possible to get your money then not care about you. As of 2023, avoid this place at all costs. Sad.

May 18, 2025 10:20am Tee Time $51 for 18 with cart (+$10 park daily entrance fee they don't tell you about when booking online) Nice clubhouse staff. Quick efficient check in. Cart staff was pulling carts out every minute or so which turned into clubhouse curbside service which was a nice welcome. Starter (Tom) was welcoming. Got paired with another 2some who were a perfect scoring match to our 2some (1 first time golfer). Nice course, very wet (we have had a LOT of rain so far this year so it is understandable) on the fairways. Cart path only (which honestly unless roped off most includin…
